it would be better if they made the screen resolution to QVGA, maybe SE still does not have the technology and/or capability to do high resolution screens in a smaller surface/size than what is found on W900 (apparently Samsung, Nokia and others can do it [e.g. D600, 7380, 7370 et al). i hope SE can still add more "walkman" features lyk being able to record FM broadcasts, play more music formats especially wma and perhaps an AM tuner would be a good bonus. not to forget d ability to play more than 10 seconds (after rcvng a SMS, etc) when message alert is set to a mp3 file and d lyk (its kinda short, which often make u not to notice a msg was rcved particularly in noisy environments, dat will lead to delayed replies). another flaw of SE phones that i think should have been fixed a long tym, being able to show SIM card & phonebook memory simultaneously! if in any situation those improvements were made, maybe i'll go back & purchase once again a SE phone otherwise it's not worth it (for me). oh, symbian OS, another big factor and important thing! peace out! by the way W810 is going to be available by March 2006 in Vodafone, even earlier than N80.. here's d link:

Today I played with W810i(test unit). Great phone, but they changed the appearance of the main screen, of icons...my W800i looks more friendly.

hey all,

my mum has the w800i, and i hear this phone is mostly the same besides a few things, and im deciding on this or the ROKR e2.

so far its... SE W810 Vs Motorola ROKR e2

im not a 'fanboy' of any mobile phone company, they all can be as good or as bad as each other. so anyone help a bit with my choice, cause atm, it all comes down to $$

Hello Everyone

I would like to know if SE W810 is supirior to W800.Can I install programs on Sony Ericsson phones like NOKIA?Will I be able to use the Mp3 player of W810/W800 in an aeroplane?

what do u think i should get i reckon i could get a memory card pretty cheap off the net but yeah what should i get theres $55 between the phones which 1 should i get what do ya recomend

the k750 and w800 are the same fones.
the onlything different is the design, i prefere the design of the k750/w810 above the w800
but with the w800 you get a 512MB memory. so if you can buy a memorycard (up to 1 gig)+ a k750 i would recommend that. if the w810 is in stores i suppose that that will get a 512MB card aswell. then i should buy the w810 cos the joystick of K750/w800 is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry annoying (i can know ive had the k750)

i had a chance to use this phone for a while ..... my opinion FANTASTIC. i've never saw such a great menus (posible like old K750 or new one black screen with white scrached icons) looks fantastic. And when you walk through menu some kind of bump is feeled .. . I've never sow such a thing in other phone. If you ask me where to buy I will say it's still not awailable:)

totally! this is why they made the voda simply! made for the simple folk! everyone with an IQ over 5 are able to do these SIMPLE tasks like on and off and joystick manoeuvre and may i add find the bloody battery! how do these people make it through the day! they are the ones that the open by hand message on juice bottles are for! what would u use a tin opener!?

i went there like crazy BUT there is nothing on the main site of SE about this k800,not even a word about it,its all a lie and that was just a design that is not for sure would be made.

If you type "Sony Ericsson concept" into google images, you'll get some breathtaking designs, but the chances of any of them actually making it to the shelves anytime soon are very slim indeed.

Cheers for the link Viperkid, looking forward to having a look at that....Although you did express surprise at how alike the designs are of the W and K series. Like you say, and like I've said many times, thats just corporate identity. An SE phone has gotta look like an SE phone. Same reason why All Nokia phones look like Nokia phones. Nokia's newer 6 series look similar, the 1 series look similar and E series look similar (apart from the blackberry-esque fridge door er, I mean E60)......... If you're gonna have yet another pop at SE, at least have a pop at something that doesn't apply to every other manfacturer too!

same new but old design, anyway i think its SE's identity but they could have made it better.. nice work on the navigation keypad though (at least not that obtuse joystick!) among K700, K750, W800 & W810 (which apparently somehow their designs are almost alike, [well for me]), W810 is Sony Ericsson's best looking mobile phone! if this phone has qvga video recorder/player, then i can say this phone is excellent, otherwise i'll stick with nokia 3250. by the way, for all who is interested about SE's most coveted upcoming model (im not sure if it's really "K800", as "mobileprototype.com" said) here's a link for its pics.

quite nice design! (but again keypad is identical to K750) nonetheless excellent, reminds me of N90..
