my w830 has little crack at d-pad..
almost user have problem with d-pad too..

I real admire this phone but I have not even use it to my self once, to be honest one of my friend is having it that is where I came across to have a chance of looking the programs.All I can sy it is a nicest phone I have ever come across.

hey guys u r confusing w830 n w850. There is no as such difference but w 850 is 3g n w810 is with edge. Now If u ask ab8 the difference? w 850 dual camera one infront of mobile to do video calls n has high speed internet but it depends on your network either they provide u 3G or not. but if they r providing EDGE as here in pakistan then u should prefer w830.
w850 3G speed=384kbps max (Internet)
w830 Edge(class10)= 236kbps max (Internet)
So u can see the comparison, but it all depends on network u r using, either they provide 3G or EDGE. Hope it clears the view now.

In my opinion here's what I think the pro's & cons are:
Pro's:
1) Loud Speakers
2) Camera has auto-focus. I'm not sure though if I'm just not using it correctly but I can't zoom in camera mode, only video mode.
3) Charges very fast and stays charged for a long time!
4) Very durable. Haven't dropped it but threw it once because I got pissed and it didn't even break even if it was slid open.
5) Speaker phone is very clear.
6) Music sounds great on it and it plays loud.
Cons:
1) For some reason, I have a hard time catching signal. My bars stay 3/5 bars to none at all. And at times, it's full signal but it says emergency calls only, when it says that, I can't make a call or txt at all!
2) I can't even use the interent because I have to do all these stupid "set up internet pprofile" thingy.
3) I can't even view a picture message sent to me because it has me connect to the internet first.
There may be more pro's and cons but I'm not trying to point everything because I know that someone too will have a different opinion. I like this phone but I'm getting ready to let it go!

i am planning to buy a new SE w830 but i dont know about it more. i read the reviews and opinions but still confused for taking decision..
please tell me any disadvantage of this phone and also tell me what are the major in this set and what are not in this set..
is it autofocus is neccessary for picturing ...
wut about the sound and picture quality as compared with SE K750, W810 and K790..
please please reply seriously...

i hav this w830 since nov 2007 and i really pleased buy it's features and function but i really disapointed with the joystick (that 4 dots) which (sometimes) we have to use our nail to press it, mine is cracked!wow!i'm using it normally. my friend has w850 and he has the same problem too, well i wanna ask to another w830 or w850 user do you guys have the same problem with me??is your keypad/joystick cracked too?

its very exciting for having sony ericsson w830. i'm a university student, and i have to take some trips out and come to several cities. and something that makes me comfortable is hearing music from w830. i think, choosing w830 is the best choice to me, because i love music. once more, thanks to sony ericsson with highly technology....

Well this phone has HSCSD and W850 doesn't. As i understood, HSCSD is another network which enables u to transfer data at high speeds, kindof like 3G or EDGE. The W830 has both EDGE and HSCSD so now i'm asking, do those networks go hand in hand? and since the W850 has no EDGE or HSCSD, does that make its capabilities to transfer data at dependent on 3G alone? Finally, since the W830 have both EDGE and HSCSD, and the W850 has only EDGE, does that make the SE W830 better than the SE W850?
I'm also curious about the speakers, which one has the louder speaker? or are they the same.
