Check here for the pictures.. it's not that good.. but like i said.. sony tends to fix these stuff on later firmware upgrades.
The poor picture quality was present in the early stages of the k800i as well. It was later fixed by upgrading the firmware.
I've had this phone for 3 days now and I'm really putting it through its paces trying all the various functions available. I've used bluetooth for MP3 and photo file transfers and played walkman and radio for several hours and the battery has lasted for the full 24 hours. Bearing in mind, it was heavy usage, to me this was good. If you are only using this phone for calling and texting you would get 4 or 5 days on a charge. It works well with the SE bluetooth stereo headset which you can buy( I got mine free though) The sound quality is far superior to my previous Samsung Z400 but I think maybe the samsung has the better picture quality even though they are both 2MP. Samsung go for looks whereas SE seem to be designed more for music. I do believe this phone will accept the 4GB card but I've personally not tried it. My 1GB is half full at the moment! Mine is the gun metal grey colour. It comes in 3 colours, black, white and grey. The menu system is slightly different to samsungs but I've had no trouble with it and find it easy to use. A lovely walkman mobile.
I'm glad that you are satisfy with your W850 now.
Try to explore it and share with us your experience. Both strong and weakness sides, so you can help our friends.
Can you share also how is the battery life (of course with explanation how you use this phone) and how is the keypad to type sms?
it's loudspeaker is stereo or not?how good it's loudspeaker compare to N73?thanx 4 the info
This model is out in singapore. Tried fiddling with it in a mobile shop and I'm not impress by it. No auto focus is fine but the built quality is poor compared to my k800i and it certainly doesn't matches up to my 1 year old samsung d600 too. Making things worst is, it's even more expensive than my k800i with just a renewed version of mp3 player.
Guys, if you already own a k750/w800 or k800i. Stick with it. No point forging out $$$ for this over rated phone. Wait for the next version of slider from sony eric.
I'm not misleading anyone. The K800's music player IS the same as that of the W810, as they are based on exactly the same software -Walkman 1.0. The only difference in the K800 is the absence of the actual 'Walkman' logo in the player. Essentially they ARE the same. Don't be fooled by cheap marketing and brand-recognition exploitation.
Hey everyone, i just called to check with my fav store. Black colour = SGD 690 whereas White = SGD 700
To add, i think the camera quality is fixable by a firmware upgrade. I remember the k800i having the same issue with crappy camera quality even though it's a 3.2 mp phone.
SE always manages to patch things up on the next firmware release
A2DP = Music Streaming from phone to bluetooth headPHONES (not headset)
swapped my d830 for this phone and it was the right choice, love all the function, the slider function is a definite plus, although the functionality of the slider is slightly poor compared to the LG chocolate. but overall love the phone, the free memory stick, faster mobile web surfing. love it.
I've order these fone and im so excited it looks great when i get it i will inform u ov all the things about the fone yes finally i gt d beauty
does the phone flash when music is on? and if it does is it only to bass sensitivity? and if so is it accurate?
Sorry, k800i DOESN'T uses the same Walkman 1.0 software as used in the W810i. Pls dun mislead others. The quality of MP3 cant be compare to those walkman series. K800i is not as powerful as any other walkman series.
I have just got this phone at the weekend and it's an absolutely awesome mobile. It's my 1st Sony Ericsson (always had Samsung in the past) and I've been pleasantly surprised. I like sliders so this was a plus factor with this phone and the music quality far surpasses any Samsung. It has some very intelligent features on it too, one in particular being the Track ID where it will listen to a song played either on radio or tv etc and it will tell you who the title and artist are. It's just marginally bigger than the Samsung Z400 and a bit thicker but it has so much packed into it. I'd recommend this mobile any day. Well done SE.
no the navigation pad is not like an ipod its just buttons, but this is a quality phone
Apparently it's available in grey as well as black?!
The keypad isn't touch-sensitive, but the plastic around where those 'dots' are is flexible and you press the button underneath.
BTW, I must say how very disappointed I am with this handset -I have been (quite patiently)waiting and waiting for its release and have posted on this forum at least 20 times, but now that it's arrived I'm appalled by the shody incredibly plastic-like materials SE have used to make this phone! It really isn't as solid-a-design as I's hoped and was expecting from them. I'm `now gonna switch to the K800i -which seems to have EVERYTHING, apart from a bland (and relatively quite large) design -although when compared with the W850 itself it's the same width and thickness, just a little taller. I personally am starting to warm to joystick-navigation (I borrowed a friends K310 and found it real pleasing to use). Remember, the K800i still uses the same Walkman 1.0 software as used in the W180!
