I think that sony ericsson is aiming now to the "beatiful phone, featureless phone, expensive phone" style that uses motorola: they make phones with some simple features, put in it a good design and sell it to higher prices than the ideal one. And writing sms in this phone will make your fingers cry of pain lol.

Well after a week using the w880i i have to say its an amazing phone, its jus so slim feels nice in the hands and also looks great. I cud link the w880 wid my laptop an use the internet, boomin pice bt worth a quick email check on the train. The sound is great, but if u had the w900i like me, an jus like me u wud b disappointed wid the camera, no doubt the 2mp in the w900 was like a 3mp an much more coz of the large screen, bt the w880 has a standard pic quality, bt it passes to the size of the phone. Overall......9/10 for SE brand

My previous phone was a W900i And i upgraded to this a weekago an i have to say; i have everything ive had in the w900i plus more all in a much much slimmer package. A w900i in your pocket or even in a belt clip is bulkly and annoying, while this phone fits in the smallest hidden pocket of my jeans and goes unnoticed unless i want it to be noticed. You can actually stack 3 of these phones on top of each other and match the w900i in size. You have to see this phone IRL before you can see it's ingenius beauty.

take it easy man i wasn't talking to you i'm the biggest sonyericsson fan in the world i wrote this to some nameless person who foul talking about SE and the w880 couple of times he praises nokia i think you could read his opinion in the first page p.s I own a p990i and z610 and i owned once a w900 about a year ago it's the greatest music phone ever who told you it's a failure you got me wrong peace out.

no we are just upset to the new walkman releases, i thought of something very good this year, but really bad walkmanfones ,im a sony ericsson fan, and im using w900i, do you think w900i is a failure??? shame on you,even its 2yrs old, its still the best walkman.
im using it for 2years already and im really upset because after 2 years there still no walkman fone to make me upgrade. still my w900i is the best walkmanfone evermade!i think your fone is more of a failure than mine. your more of a looser than me.

I got this phone, i agree with you its lack a few functions, but buying a handset is due to individual wants and needs. if you really want a handset with good fuction then just go buy one that has it all, no point complaining it here. some ppl just buy for the sake of the looks but not function. So there's no point arguing here, to each his own.

common, yes i admit its cute. but i dont buy fones becos its cute.what will i get w/ its slim look? the "wows" of other people? but yourself knows it lacks so many basic functions. i ask you what you really get from its slim look? i'll tell you lost flash, autofocus and Fm radio and w/ no FM its track ID is nonsense. its not gonna be slim if it has that features, so you lost many good features. and you are proud of that fone because its the first walkman without FM radio? haha!!! you care for "wows" of others, but you dont care about what you really get from it? your fooling yourself man! you guys are the type of people who cares for what others may think, b4 your sake.

Hey guys stop bashing SE for being innovative.
Nokia may produce all these SMART phones but hey I bet all of you use the same functions and features as all SE handsets have. I'm planning to get this baby when price stabilizes here in the Philippines. N73 compared to W880? boy you better get your head straight. get your bulky phone and leave this slim one alone.

w880 is amongst best phones that i have used, It's Sound Quality Features is Unmatchable and Looks wise it stands poles apart, very beautifully crafted device. Keep it up Sony Ericsson !!

Agree with the comment, to those who havent seen the actual product and havent try it will be surprised about this phone. I, myself doesnt really like slim phone cause it lack of functions, when i see it and try it damn it is really really good. I was surprised. I bought 2, one for my Girlfriend. But WHERE THE HELL IS THE BLACK/ORANGE COLOR ? All the shops only carry the Silver/Black. The price here in Indonesia is quite steep it cost Rp4,400,000 = about US$480. I really like it, its light weight and Slim, perfect fit. The phone feels solid. It has no squeekkeee plastic parts. The Silver side made from Hair line Stainless steel and the black part made from something like hard rubber. This phone is perfect when you wanna carry it around when you are jogging/working out. I only need perfect slim carrying case. Btw the function inside is almost the same as K800i not much different and the processing speed is also fast. Recommended Phone. Now I only need Nokia E90 to partner with the Sony Ericsson W880, W880i+E90=Perfect Dynamic Duo, Like Batman and Robbin hehe...

For those who post some comments here, please, in the first place, have the phone in hand and try it out first. Dont post any unreasonal comments based on visual only.
Anyway got this phone 2 days ago, and was suprised by the quality of the phone. Despite its small screen, it manages to produces a bright screen and clear text. Sound quality is excellent through the earphone and nice on the speaker itself despite the slim factor.
Buttons may look weird to some ppl, but once you get your hands to it, its very easy to use and its well spaced, not causing any problem to text sms.
The only cons i can see from this phone is the lack of auto focus and no flash for the camera, but cmon, its a walkman phone.
For those who wants a nice camera go get a nice k800i or a digi cam and stop moaning about the lack of it.

You are comparing an old design phone to a new one???!!! Obviously, this SE W880 is much better......it feels smaller, lighter but more solid feel in you hand! The look is also more modern. SE phones are very reliable with long battery time. Reception strong with no software bug. I just love my W880.........the more you use & look at this phone; the more you'll like it!!!

This phone is very nice. But y not the autofocus and flash on the camera? The autofocus is a bonus as i have the w810i, makes a huge difference. Altogether a nice, thin, Walkman phone.
