Finally a phone to replace my hardworking w810.
no radios what the hell i dont use it anyway. a good mp3 player, a decent 2 mp camera, an outmodeled video camera, 3g, 1 gb memory, and best of all its very portable and light.. perfect.
for sure i wouldnt see the messages WAITING or OPENING because performance wise this is a sony ericsson.
AWESOME, deserving a round of applause.
kudos to ericsson for being the first ones to include 3g on light and very portable phone...

The silver one has a black back on it.
Would be better with faster video capture and autofocus on the still cam, but I can't really complain as it still looks the dogs!

I think this phone is more on the music side than of the usual camera phone that everybody is familiarized with... It actually reminded me of iPod nano only that its a phone ^_^

Lately, sony never make walkman mp3 coming with radio. I found this phone quite interesting, at least with the battery life and slim.

Since the K750 model came out SE makes models more and more specialized to music, or photos etc ( W series for music, K for photos ). Well thats excactly why i dont see any reason to change my K750. Why? because, say, W880 has a better screen? It takes awful photos! And it has no radio! I will not buy a mobile only because its ... "trendy". People who do that are stupid in my opinion. When, and if, SE makes a truly better phone IN EVERY ASPECT, then i'll change my K750. Then i will stick to it, or buy a phone from another company.

I think I'll still buy this phone, I don't have problem with it having no radio, I have nokia 8310 as a back up that has a radio on it.. so works for me.. 2mp camera is OK for me, I believe sony ericsson phones has the best camera compared to other phones. I have k700i for more than 2 years and I just found out lately that it has only vga cam, I thought it was like 1.3 hehehe

okay if u wanna make a fair comparision, compare the motorola slvr (L7) and if u read both specs you'll see that the w880 is about 25 gms lighter (which may not seem that much lighter but trust me it makes a differance) this fone has 3g tht doesnt. w880 has a wayyy better camera and the demensions of the w880 are much smaller than the L7 and i could go on and on....

It's not an upgrade to anything! The W880 is clearly a new class of phone for SE. It is directed at the same people who flocked to the Nokia 8210 all those years ago. No, it's not the most technologically advanced handset available in the SE range, but it is smallest and most lightweight and still manages to cram in a lot of very good features - even 3G!
Keep an eye out for announcements in the coming days for SE handsets that cater more for those who are considering the N95 - the W880 very clearly isn't intended to be competing for the same market!

i have two comments, both negative and positive..
positive: the design is nice because it is slim & light weigth..with a 1G memory..
negative: basically it looks like a w810 especially the keypads..but the design will be the achilles heel of this phone..the slimmer the design, the harder to text, and it might slip your hands if you don't grab it tightly..well, 1G memory is fine, w810 memory is also expandable til 1G, what makes it any difference then from other phones with expandable memory?..2mp camera?i think if they have upgraded the phone, they should have upgraded the MP of the phone also, like they should have made it to 3.2MP for better picture quality, with that they might have satisfied customers with that..the design could have been much better, i mean, the designers could have came up with a new look and not just base it on the old models..
