Sony Ericsson W888 - user opinions and reviews

I have had 6 of these off orange. they lose the ability to receive a signal after a few months. I would be really disappointed if i had paid money for this phone. What a waste of money

looks good however would you pay 35 bar a month for a useless phone??

really cool phone.works just fine only real issues are its battery life is way too short though it seems to function for extended periods with low battery life also there were some problems reguarding the phone not detecting the memory card well enjoy gr8 phone overall and very durable despite having a frighteningly delicate look :-)

It sucks... There are no sony ericsson mobiles that are that ugly! And just look how they puttet in the screen! It´s to small for the area of the mobile! It sucks! do not buy this ugly phone!

I have the W880i.

Great phone when it works, however, for the third time since bought new, 4 months ago, it is out of action. So only worked for 9 weeks out of 16.
BAd record if you ask me, and after researching the matter, it seems this phone might be the same. Software problem or whatever causes it, makes it a crap phone, considering I have pampered the damn thing since i bought it, and my 10 year old Nokia is still going.

i have the w880 and i just checked the w888,but dont see what the fuzz is all about because the w888 doesn't have 3g... i love the w880 it has everything that i need and the space is hugh i hev alot of music and movies saved on it but don't seem to run out of space...

The 888 is without 3G and for the Chinese market, its not a "new" model.
Several 3G phones are released here in a model that just lacks the 3G and the front camera, SE often adds an 8 the model number since 8 is a lucky number here (phonenumbers with 8s are often more expensive to buy than ones with 4s since 4 is pronounced a bit like "die" in Chinese) or they just add a c after like on 610c. Nokia usually just release the phones with the same name as in the west.

i got this phone 3 weeks ago. the sound is load and clear but if the volume is maxed the sound is not good. camera is good. battery last for 3 days using for calling. and design is the best, exept for the keypad. citybeat theme is cool.

i want to buy w890 or w898 that are upgrades to w880 and w888 respectively.
i do no need 3G as i do not like video calls.
does this mean i better go for the w898?
is it going to be chiper than the w890?

i been using this phone since it was launched , keypad is very uncomfortable and speaker is very poor as well. not an ideal handset for men.

i'm currently using w810i and absoloutely love everything about it, the design, function and the userfriendly menu.. the only thing that i don't like about it is the size of it is a little big for girl.. i love tihs phone becus it is pretty much like w810 but slimmer !!! w888 is my solution!!

This is really Mind blowing........all of my friends and others liked it a lot.....But would like to know the difference betweem W880i and W888? Why the need for new model? Also would like to have the front camera for capturing pictures as every Mobile service provider will not support Video call...Also the battery needs to be charged every 2 days even If we dont use it.......Take care

Maybe its not the best Sont Ericsson out there, but a skinny Walkman with Sony Ericsson is just a killer combo.
