SE are the best. I used to love nOkias and I never had anything else then I got an SE and I never looked back :)

SE phones do have java and game support. i have a few java games and apps on my k550.
the megabass option is more than an EQ preset, as the megabass sound cannot be achieved through messing with the eq, it just distorts the bass frequencies if you push them too high. i think it does some sort of on the fly processing. i personally don't like megabass as for some songs it sounds great and others it just muddies up the low frequencies and cuts some of the high mids. the 'bass' setting is fine and sounds good with all types of music.
i am also waiting for the w960 although the change from the normal SE UI might be a bit weird as i'm so used to it and it's incredibly user friendly.

let me tell u the secrets of s.e. walkman series success ... its that they are releasing the same firmware in every phone with a updated body style ... they never try to introduce something more new to there customers ... and s.e. lacks java application and games support ... s.e. rarely introduce a symbian walkman which will be overpriced for sure cuz they like to stick into there older looking but updated firmwares ... s.e. got mega bass (which we also can hear the sound quality of this " preset " in some nokia phones after setting the equalizer for the appropriate levels remember its just a preset setting in the " walkman player equalizer " ...) im not afraid to say this but the war between s.e. walkman and other music brands have just started ... so s.e. should be careful and make something new which is cheaper ... like the upcoming w960 lol well what happend i guess s.e. had understood something now ... im still waiting for that phone ... the thing i like about s.e. is the camera quality ... but im not so interested in hearing about its music quality (what is it a sound machine no its a phone u can get the same sound quality from other branded phones) or mega bass (which is totally a fake option its an equalizer preset) im not into the firmware either (u can find it in many s.e. phones in different updated styles maybe with a few extra options in the updated version) maybe in some companies or in some places areas etc. u will see so many ppl holding a s.e. but the truth is the best selling phone in the world is " nokia " ... they dont even think about wining about there music quality but u know , most ppl knows what to choose i guess ...

you don't get it do you... They aren't losing the war at all... For people who know quality, they only buy from SE... you, on the other hand, are just another general public... as far as I'm concerned... SE has already won... especially with phones that have their quality surpassing in all aspects...

this phone has many uniqe features. gsmarena didnt desplayd it. it has tourbo 3g,fast web service,netfron-3.4version,pod cast support,walkman playr-3, in slim stainless still finishd body. its amayzin phone

I love my W880 and now this upgrade comes just in time. From what I could see from the specs the W890 has the FM radio and turbo-3G. All in a slim shape like that! :-)
Like normal SE style, I'm sure the W890 has great quality.

SE Phones are Stable very Stable even when having 4 Things at once SE phones still work Normall NO freezing,crashing,hanging
this is 1 reason why SE Sell Alot theres loads more reasons aswell

I beleive SE phones are very stable when it comes to software that's why a lot of people choose it.. but still i'm waiting for a w810i successor, for now i'll stick to my w810i. =)

gka, i work for a mobile phone company in the UK and a high percentage of people i speak to have sony ericsson phones, so while you or i may not think that they are very good they sell very well and people are very happy with their SE phones so they must be doing something right.

there is something that s.e. should know ... its that they are loosing the war in the mobile world cuz they are releasing these kind of too much classic looking phones to the market ... even samsung have found there own way with the designing quality of there phones u can see that clearly by clicking the samsung phone list tab in this web site ... & nokia is still on the top of the mobile world as they were before ... s.e. phones have been the second popular but looks like people are going out of s.e. now if s.e. wont start making new designs and introduce new phone models to the world they will still be crushed by nokia as always and this time they will be crushed by samsung too ... or maybe s.e. will be crushed by lg phones ... even nokia 6121 & 6120 classic phones are better designed than this w890 ... whats wrong with s.e. these days ... are they trying to go to the stone age or something ...

I love this phone... i'm buying it ones it comes out.. anyone knows what's the price?
if its too high, i'll buy W580i...but still i like W580i and W890i.

the 6500 classic lacks a memory card slot (with free 2gb card), accelerometer, dedicated volume and camera keys, secondary video call camera, FM radio, HSDPA and it's camera is only 2MP.
there are tradeoffs with every phone, especially ones this slim. i think SE have done incredibly well to fit all this into such a slim phone. i like the 6500 classic but in terms of features (it being walkman phone) and it's battery life the w890 is much 'better'.
