Sony Ericsson W900 - user opinions and reviews

Sony Ericsson

> In reply to AC @ 2008-07-02 22:32 from mxCAI'm in doubt now. It could be a software problem, but I think it's a lose connection between the camera sensor and the mainboard. You could try opening your W900i and see if the camera is connected properly, but I have no idea how to dismantle a W900i. Anyway good luck fixing your W900i!

@wondering
I had the phone before and IMO the swivel structure would be something you need to get used to for the first time if you want to like the phone. If you get used to the way it moves using it is a breeze. For me, after about a month using I am able to open, close and rotate to get the orientation right with only one hand - in which I think to train yourself to be able to do that is necessary cuz your other hand won't be always vacant all the time. Most of the time it won't be a big deal but sometimes the need to keep rotating the phone to get the orientation right if you're texting frequently might get in your nerves. Rotating out and closing could sore your hands abit at times. Overall it is a really good phone though size-wise abit bulky. Design is sleek simple and attractive (IMO), keypad is great, extra internal memory is definitely a plus, speaker is quite loud and crisp, camera though outdated can be considered feature rich with AF and flash, good camera quality (comparable to K750), video is good for SE phone (QVGA 30fps). Drawbacks? Screen quality is bit below average, low frame rate when running GIF images, abit tight in the pocket kinda hard to pull out if you have smaller pocket, horrible video recording compression, unable to speed-texting with only one hand (d-pad and keypad placed afar). If you can stand the size and structure and have no problem using an outdated phone, this phone is for you. Personally I changed mine with K850 after 2 years cuz I like SE and that was the only phone worth changing from SE if you have W900 before.

Well, guess that was extract from my experience in using the phone. Hope that helps. :)

Can you change this phone's version of walkman player to 2.0 (the one with ID Tag recognition like the W850i have?

Is it true that it's a bit laggy when it comes with FLASH Themes?

Great, solid, reliable phone. Had for years, spilled coffee, water, on it. Drop it (hard). Still going strong!

my cousin had this phone, and although bulky, the features in the phone 'over-ruled' its size. i thought i wasnt very big and compared to my p990i it was much more sleeker. its just when you swivel it its pretty big in its 'structural' length.
