@kdnq

u see i live in Pakistan. Only GPRS & EDGE are available here. Thank God SE finally made a phone with both EDGE and 3G because i am expecting 3G to be available by 2008.

I read this morning that just first series of w580 had bad keypads. Mi friend and his girlfriend both bought w580 last week and they're thrilled. Nothing's wrong with the phone quality, keys of software. He's been j***ing off the phone all the time and phone took it great :)) lol. No, really, he said that he even dropt it and the phone is still vorking non mistake

Hopefully the keypad doesn't suck like the S500i & W580i.

Those 2 phones were a disappointment....big time.

PEni (abd)-
You don't need WiFi or WLan when you have 3.5G on your side. It's much faster, though I guess it's a downside here in Canada. Only works on 850 or 1900 band.

mVhw (TJ)-
I guess you're right about the slider's defects, but you should expect that this phone doesn't do that, then perhaps it won't. Because this phone is also another following SE W series flagship, then you should expect good quality out of it. It was only that the HK and first shipments of the W850 were with defective d-pads that cracked. But things have gotten better, and that one case has bettered things here in Canada. Instead of only ordering from HK now, our third-party SE retailers have an option to pay $50 extra to get one directly from SE UK or AU.

excelent replay guys! Haven't seen this kind of comments for a while. Actually, I've already decided I'm gonna buy this phone, but I wanned to know other serious opinions. I usually don't care about others sayin' this or that about brands and phones, but people really lowered SE - w580 most. I own a k800 and it's a great phone - haven't had any problems in a year. It's great quality and features and fast software. But when 10 people said that their SE slide phone cracked, you begin to wonder :)

I am also planning to get this phone because it has a accelerometer which is something cool to have. btw, my dad owns an E65 and so far so good. Doesn't freeze like my dad's old E50 and runs very smooth. WLAN feature is also great. Sometimes when i just wanna check the news or get some sports update i just connect the E65 to my homes wireless router and off u go! Anyway why are you comparing this with E65 the E65 is a business phone.

I'll just have to say, go with the W910 because it's unique. Today when I saw the model of the E65, it looked like a weird version of the N95, but it wasn't and had GPS branded all over it. (The back of the slider, and the bottom of the phone). Though if you really want to save on money and use the VoIP, go ahead. I really think that with the design and look that the W910 has is more distinct too. Also, W910 has bluetooth 2.0 which means 10 second song transfers if the other person has 2.0, and it also has A2DP/AVRCP profiles for your wireless music. Another thing that SE has is track ID and surprisingly, has Radio when the Nokia doesn't.
The thing with Symbian S60 and SE with their new UI is pretty clear where your choice should be. SE, if you didn't know. Because Symbian tends to freeze up and just stop, even when you're not pushing it. It's like it just trips over itself.
Larger screen within a smaller phone and a 3.5G connection rather then a 3G connection of 384kbps. Battery life seems to be very different as shown within their profiles. Just compare them, and you'll see which one is better.
The E60 is probably more comparable to SE's W580 currently, while the SE W910 is comparable to Nokia's 5610 or N81.

The SE phones normally have pretty good slider quality - their W850 was well renowned.

The screen quality is said to be really good on Nokias though, although this phone has a bigger screen (and it isn't too shabby either).

Also, the size of this phone is quite a bit smaller than the E65, and I've had a few friends who've had issues with the E65.

Also, I think that the software would be more stable on this phone, because it is not a smartphone, and smartphones usually have slower and more unstable software.

And finally, the Walkman application on the phone is very good. If you go onto youtube, there are some really nice videos of the Walkman interface.

I LOVE the new colors, though I think I'd go for the White one, cause the gold just seems too flashy. Simple is best.

Well..taking few facts into consideration I feel its gonna be around $450 CAD...

Reason being first SE W580.. is somewhere around $330.. USD, Pi is well around $490 - $500 (although its out for quite sometime now) and again the follow up model W960..

so I am tempted to think thats this will cost any where from $450 - $500...

but you never know SE.. They shoot the price like anything and they drop it the same way.

Jay84Virgo "Jeremy"-
Last I checked, Canada was at 1.108 dollars vs the US.

Ice-
You MIGHT be right, but then again when the Motorola RAZR MaxxV6 first popped up and W850 came down, they were both 445 a peice. If already that expensive for such a phone, I believe this phone to be in the 500s. But then again, when you buy from ebay, they use the hourly currency exchange. Take advantage of it! Just be careful of scams.

hey guys i emailed s.e about 3 days ago and today i got a response and the s.e rep. said:A small percentage of the early keypads used on these phones may experience cracked keys under normal use. The affected keypads were used only in initial production. If you experience this issue, the phone may be sent in for a warranty repair to correct the issue with a keypad that was not affected. and that's all she said.
