Sony Ericsson

Just to show the people not believing in the W910 restart problem. Have a look at:

A brand new phone out of its box should not behave like this!

I think that the people now complaining are old Ericsson users Myself I have had a GF337, a GF768 and a T28, all of them still working and never failing (not even a temporary hang-up) during more than 15 years of operation. The trend now towards lower quality on the phones and manuals is not a good sign. I selected the W910 because I had just got tired of the M600 not working properly (card reader failing every now and then, phone locks up completely if turned off during charging etc.) even after three phones there as well.

Another problem with the W910:The manual doesn't correspond with the way the phone works concerning the way to use the motion sensor to change songs. The menus found in the manual doesn't appear on the real phone.

Ericsson has always meant good quality phones and we should try to push the company back to that state, to have working products and not just nicely designed products that hardly works

i own 2 of these phones in red, 1 for me and my g.f. i have owned se 4 years and no problems, this has 2 b the worst phone se have ever made. first of all it keeps sayin inactive sim and freezin and turnin off, the sim works fines in other phones. it then locks me out of my messages saying operation failed so i have to master reset. i have the same problems on both of the 1s i own. it also can be reli slow 2 respond. i have had 3 of these in the past 2 months. overall i am reli dissapointed with what could have been a promising phone

I have both the Nokia 6500c & 6500s & neither of them as smart nor as user friendly as this SE W910. I'mm not an SE fans but some of their phones are impressive(e.g. Samsung phones are rubbish).

Late Nokia phones have the following problems:
-terrible heat-up during calls(e.g. 8600, 6130, 6500...just to nname a few)
-no display of call duration during calls(same issue with the new 8800 Arte)
-although good stand time, but talk time is short
-6500 models give the impression of solid phones; the slide is not that well finish & the shiny plastic on the classic is cheap.
-fonts are way too small for comfort
-screen nnot as nice as SE phones
--boring interface to look at

Btw, if anything goes wrong with a new phone, there is always a waranty on it(except grey market item!).
SE have already fixed the S500 cracking problem.

I have no idea of the S500 model, but the W910 have no cracks with their keypads cause they are covered in soft plastic! Anyway, I doubt if you even own this phone???!!! I know so many people who own this phone for te past few months & never have any complain ...including myself! Not even any one of the mobile phone sales that I know so well mention to me that they have complain from their customers!!! So what are you people talking about???

Those of you who's complaining about this phone sound to me like you are promotors from othher brands...

I don't think it is rough handling that makes this W910 stop working, my 8 year old T28 still works! The dealer service guy confessed that they have had several W910 failing. The flat keyboard on this model and the keyboard on models like the S500 seems to be of low quality with many malfunctions, especially cracks in the plastic surface.

I also happen to own the 6500, but it's not in the same class as the W910! I have no problem with my W910 at all! I've a friend who own 3 of these(2 for himself & 1 red onee for his wife) & he got no complain either(I brought mine cause I tried his a few months back). Also have 2 business friends from Sweden using the same phone & they just love it.

Phones are small & delicate electronic items, they are not meant for rough handling!

Just returned the third W910 in one month to the dealer. The first one continuously restarted from the beginning. The restarting also appeared while charging and sometimes aborting the charging and locking the phone completely such that only a battery removal/reinsertion would make the phone work again. The second one started to have this problem after two weeks. A complete reset and software re-installation (via the computer as the update service via the phone indicated that the latest software was installed) seemed to fix the problem. However one week later two keys stopped working. The third phone had the restart problem from the beginning. Have now replaced the phone by a Nokia 6500, no problems this far.

I was at a chain electronic store today trying out the new Nokia 8800 Arte(well built, feels good/comfortable & solid/smooth holding it; & the slide is very good. The rest of the phone is pretty lousy!). What i've notice was that most(8/9 out of 10) of the customers who walk up to the mobile phone counter ask for Sony Ericsson phones ... especially this W910 model!
Another thing that suprised me was that I've noticed that almost all of their mobile phone sales were using SE phones of different models ... they all have to pay the regular price for their SE phones & there was no kick back from SE nor their employer! ... Sony Ericsson have very tight control of pricing with their products!

Why almost all phone sales use SE phones? Their can only be one answer ... cause they are good phones, right???!!!

Anyway, I'm really enjoying my W910; and the more I use it, the more I like it. There aes a couple things that SE can improve on the W910, namely louder earpiece volume, a little bighter keypad backlighting & louder plus clearer handsfree speaker phone. Another techonology I wish SE have with their phones is the "crystal talk" which Motorola is pioneering in their hand phones. SE phones are not good at all at cutting background noise as people at the other end of the call were complaining of noisy background which I have never encounter complain when i was using my Moto V8!

I just returned my phone to get fixed or I might get a new one if it is faulty. I had it for since end of Nov. But since last week, it started to stuffed up in making and receiving call. There's no dial tone, I can't hear anything, and the other party can't hear anything either. But call going through. Sms is fine. I like the phone though, I love red, and I'm a girl :) The sliding is smooth not like a cheap phone like nokia 6000 series. Although sometimes, the software a bit slow, I'm not sure is it because of a little bit memory left on the phone after filled up with music and pictures. Overall, it depends what you want, colours, whether you need walkman phone, if you want camera phone, k850i maybe the option for SE its 5 mpx. Thanks for reading
