> In reply to [deleted post]Could be worse - if Nokia were the only phone manufacturer then the vast majority of handsets would be getting sent back with software faults. I'd rather have something that doesn't do as much as the competition but actually does it successfully, as opposed to something that claims to do everything, but not until after you've fixed the problem with the software...

Yet another hard blow to SE: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/bus.../7514296.stm they are firing over 2000 SE employees due to an even further drop in profits. With all that happening at SE i highly doubt NOKIA are worried about competition from SE, theres nothing that SE has released that can threaten NOKIA. NOKIA are more worried about competition from HTCs Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, Apple iPhone-3G , and RIMs BlackBerry Bold and Thunder as well as the late commers SAMSUNG G810 and i900 Omnia.

and back to my previous point
95% of users of the n95 just get it cos its an upgrade on their contract and they dont know what the phone can do.
thats why it gets complaints about its speed because alot of the owners used java phones previously.
of course the n95 is one of the fastest smartphones out there.
and btw i doubt nokia are worried about losing sales to SE because nokia are so far in the lead in terms of mobile sales it doesnt matter. SE are 5th anyway.
they should be more scared about samsung, especially considering samsung are bringing out some new handsets.
the i850 is looking very good.

the mobile youtube streams the video in a really low quality mp4.
obviously the desktop version (which i use on my n95 ;) ) utilises flash and the videos are at QVGA.

> In reply to KC @ 2008-07-19 11:27 from ibgCYou can access the mobile version of youtube at m.youtube.com. The site works well no matter how you are connected, be it GPRS, 3G or Wi-Fi, although the video may appear distorted in GPRS.

> In reply to KC @ 2008-07-19 10:23 from ibgCIs it the youtube mobile site or the full desktop site you're using? I know youtube has a mobile friendly site, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't use flash for it's videos coz you can use it with phones that aren't flash enabled. I don't know the address but you could search for it. Also, I'm pretty sure you need to have 3G signal (not sure if EDGE would work, don't know much about EDGE) because it's video streaming. Hope that helps...

I had installed the core player 2mths ago as it was mentioned in the forum. However, i still cannot watch youtube? Whenever i click play. the video file keep buffering. further more, there's msg saying that the adobe flash payer is turn off or not installed. i wonder u guys have this problem when u purchase the phone or not.
other than this, i'll again say W960 is worth the buy. Awaiting your reply!!!

> In reply to nick @ 2008-07-18 23:30 from nxwTActually, I find Nokias and SE's just as easy to use as each other, at least in terms of feature phones. I gotta admit I do find the W960's menu more pleasant to navigate than the N95's but that's not really a fair comparison because I really do like the touch UI. And I've been working in the mobile phone industry for nearly 4 years now (admittedly it's the network side of things mostly, but we need to have a decent knowledge of the handsets as well), so it's not just that I don't know about mobiles.
I know 5 (6 if you include myself) former Nokia users who have since converted to SE, and wouldn't look back. I can only think of one former SE user who now prefers Nokias. You can't really argue with that, it's simple numbers. Says it all really...

i think people who know that little bit more about mobiles and their potential go on to pick a nokia.
nobody can deny nokias just do more.

> In reply to [deleted post]Very true but still whats strange is the fact that its the nokia users who seem to be coming here and brag about their phones. Kinda seems to justify the fact that nokia phones are made for weirdos
