This S.E. W980 is very beautiful and it's design is quite interesting especially it's button. I think this is a good phone and i also believed the quality of Sony Ericsson. It's bad place is this phone had no flash, so the quality of photo is not very good la!If this phone cost not very expensive, i will buy this phone.

for ur question, yes it does work with flip close..
but im sure if u wanna switch transmitter on, u have to set it with flip open. (as in going into walkman, then options.. so on)

Sorry for being a bother, esecially to w980=] who's been answering all my questions, and might answer this again (really appreciate your comments man).

This definitely would be my last question (I'll do comments after this, since I'll be getting W980), does the W980's FM transmitter work while flip is closed? Cause I saw in a YouTube demo, they demonstrated it while the flip is open. Definitely not cool, especially while driving hehe!

the outlook for this phone much more better than w850.the sound quality is ok only.all the fuction is really good but no have flash and w850 got flash when taking picture.otherwise nothing much can compore with walkman version phone cuz can say allthe walkman version is same fucntioHope another Walkman version phone will come out with WIFI and,GPS and AGPS that will be realy awsome!!

shake control works when flips closed, but u havwe to press a button while shaking. its not that good, mite as well press the button.

Hi again!

The Shake Control is a really cool thing in most recent W-Series right? Does the W980's Shake Control work even when the flip is closed? Cause it would really ruin it if you still have to open-flip before shake.

but anyway. my screen protector isnt peeling off, maybe u didnt put it on properly, make sure the edges dont stick out =]

i have a crystal case on, and it isnt that big. only bad thing is, hard to press the volume button with the case on =]

The screen on the phone is TOO small. When I record a video or have taken a picture, I wont be able to view it clearly, but I was impressed when I connected it to my laptop.
I tried a case for the phone, bought it of ebay aswell, the phone felt twice as big, so I took it off. Personally I dont like bulky handsets. Screen protectors - tried aswell, within a week, they peel off!
The sound quality I would say is a lot better with the earphone then without, although it is loud, it doesnt have a good quality sound.
Personally, overall, I would give this phone a: 6.5 out of 10...

especially those who uses it in the car.
u have to press so much buttons each time u start the car.

and the fmt ransmitter disconencts when u get a call.
and u have to go thru the whole process again.
also, the sound quality isnt as great, so u might as well just use a CD =]

as for the scratchs, u can always get a case on ebay =] and if u dont like cases, get screen protectors..
they fit perfect, and if u do it properly.. it doesnt look like u have a screen protector at all =]

Just wanna ask*(typo)..for those who already own W980, does the phones sound quality without the headphone, just as good as with the headphones?

Yes, some of you guys may think that this is a stupid question, for reasons like, who would listen loud in public, etc. But me and my mates listen to our previous music phones just like that(hanging out, jamming, etc). So just wanna ask if it's still good. Would really appreciate even a little comment :D
