This is a great looking phone, with all the features I want - I've always appreciated SE's UI, and although am stuck w my LG Renoir for another 10 months (and it's touchscreen texting nightmare), can't wait to move onto this...or it's successor....

Upgraded firmware to R1FA035.

Has anyone noticed if your volume has gone DOWN in quality?

I use the speakerphone and the volume is set near the top but it's barely audible.

The ring volume hasn't been affected by the call reception has. It sounds like it's very distant and I had to increase the volume somewhat.

Anyone have anything similar or different??

Performance: Actually, it's SLIGHTLY SLOWER than before! Don't know why!! It's still OK but... there is a slower pause when switching between apps!
Phone reception is still good!
Rating: 7/10

Build: Very solid and slider still works well (knock on wood)! SE name already peeled mostly off. Put in clear plastic case to preserve the phone.
Rating: 8/10

NOTE:
It does NOT matter if you "take good care of phone" without a case! The daily rubbing of phone inside a pocket will eventually Rub off the cheap ass sticker!
Put the phone in a clear case to preserve the casing! PERIOD!

Price to features: Fair.
Almost ALL SE phones are OVERPRICED!
Too many owners reporting problems with build or software, even the little ones like the sticker peelings!

Build quality: 9/10 - solid and beautiful in every respect except for the front name and the 8.1 at the back peeling off for some ppl - never happened to mine yet (i look after my phone) :)

The Highest is 10 and the lowest is 1..this is all about the performace and the good quality of W995..

What grade you give to W995?

i bought dis fone...really likd it...
but it supports only a few video formats...is ther any software or video players wich will automatically convert the video format n makes it playable...or shud i convert the videos manually...

Im just wondering why is everybody complaining about the LED flash on this phone???The flash on the W995a is ``BLINDING``!!!, in all conditions,it even takes good night time pics it lights up the entire area...Whats the problem...???

Every painted on decal on my phone has rubbed off sony ericsson on the front the 8.1megapixel on the back cover and the M2 symbol on the side of the batt cover,no worrie`s Im still full of joy!!!Ohh yeah I found something interesting!!!I was playing a song in the walkman player while the song is still playing go into settings and activate stereo widening hit the back button and go back in settings and and turn it off the phone will start staticing while you have the static go back into setting and go to equalizer from the equalizer you can browse through the 400Hz-16kHz frequency spectrum.Hmm... wonder what that is for...If you try it make sure that a song is playing in the back ground and turn the volume all the way down to one click before silence.

i think SE have chosen LED flash than XENON flash because of option that LED flash for camera is also possible to use as FLASH LIGHT :-? what do you think guys? any idea?

I’m planning to buy Sony Ericsson W995 this coming week. And I just want to know the GOOD and BAD performance encountered to all having Sony Ericsson W995..

I hope someone can help me this matter ASAP..

(i.e.- play pause, delete from playlist etc)... the "activity menu" button is not associated with walkman player. :) thats why it is not glowing red..

if u look closely u will see, in the side of the mobile there are 3 more button glowing red... all of them are assosiated with walkman task :)

so, dont worry.

You should go to a phone store and see the phone yourself, if available!

If you really want to take pictures, BUY A CAMERA!
