ARC, 31 May 2011SE goes step by step not immediately picks the crap from the market and place in their phone. ... moreIO agree your comment but SONY was not the one who made OLED platform, It was Kodak who made OLED platform!!
Anonymous, 31 May 2011you are very right about that... very true indeed. I have had SE and other brands since 2003 ... moreHi i feel people just want to take out all their anger on sony ericsson as if they forced them to buy their phones. I am using bb bold 9000 and now its a old phone but its gets the job done so i am happy with it. I am looking to buy a second phone and i am looking at htc desire s or sonys arc because i am getting a good deal with it. no doubt sony ericsson made a mistake with xperia x10 but even they accepted their mistake so i dont know what more do people want. i saw some pics of samsung galaxy s2 and sonys arc and to be frank i didnt know which was samsung and sony but i found sonys arc picture quality more natural and better than samsung galaxy s2 and when i found out that it was sonys arc i was shocked. anyways my point is that people who dont like sonys arc they dont have to show their hatred on arcs forums. if i dont like anyone or anything i dont keep on saying it to that person or to tht thing. the point of this forums is to share your reviews of arc and what you like about it and what you dont. if only specs were the criteria to see which is better than apple should be the worst company but it is not. apple is one of the best companies right now and people using it swears by it.so to each his own.
it's a great phone, i'm glad i got it, but wow. hot damn how amazing SLOW is it... things like pressing back to get out of messaging for example, just freezes for like 5 seconds. No phone is perfect tho i guess
the most important feature for any product is its durability and quality built
let me tell you my observations and experiences that I have personaly.
for years i get new phones and always talk to people around me in the office and in my frinds circle and I can see that the only phones that have endured in peoples hands are the SONY ERICSSON and NOKIA PHONES
Meaning that these phones physically are built to last for a long time ,
- still i can see the storekeeper in our compay uses the good old Nokia phone , the botons are all used up and body colour have worn up but still works just fine like any other phone
- my manager in Cyprus still uses the old basic SONY ERICSSON phone and you can understand from the look that it was over used but still it works fiine like any other phone .
- my wife still uses her old SONY ERICSSON and belive me its still looks good and works fine .
- also I still see my good frind still using his old Blackberry phone and now its with him 3 years and still works fine
I have neveer seen in peoples hand any Samsung , LG , HTC old phone and I hear that they are not so durabily built and rend to fail phusically after some tmee
so for a rich person or a person that can afford to change phones every 3 to 6 months any phone can be good for him , but foor someone that cann purchase 1 phone every 3 years then NOKIA < SONY ERICSSON is the answer.
here i can say that SONY ERICSSON will be out the above formula since they will stop making cheap phones hence people that cant afford many phones in a year can not afford SONY ERICSSON at all .
if you look carefully most the earth people are really poor and very few can really afford these expensive and high end phones , so the industry is only for the rich and middle class(which is already getting disappeared in many parts of the world)
so this forum is only for the rich peole to talk and buy and expperience the product and the poor people can only dream and talk .
really we can not tell what is really happening in the industrry behind the doors , all we know that all these products has a name and specifications .
All the time we are mislead by the reviews and the adverts that this industry produce and all this to suck our money and make us slaves on the continous emerging technologies
if you look carefully for most of the earths population , very very few people really use and care for thse advance technologies and even if they care they cant afford to purchase it .
also if you look to many countries around the Globe , the price to get an internet bundle on a phone is soo expensive and even when you get it is so slow hence neither the phone or the user get the benefit of the expensive purchase (if he or she can)!!!!
I hope that I could have answered all the real deep concerns of the people around me for purchasing a mobile , , its not only the processor or the screen , its the price , the service providers price , and the Economy of the world were we can see that peoople are getting poorer and these beautiful devices are left in the hands of the few only
Hi, I just bought SE Arc, it's amazing phone even if it's single core. Everybody go for it. You'll never regret.

Sony's Arc, 31 May 2011Hi everyone. I dont know what is the big deal if anyone likes a Sony ericsson phone. Samsung s... moreyou are very right about that... very true indeed.
I have had SE and other brands since 2003 (always having at least one sony and at same time an other from other manufacturer) and sony are amongst the best.
For the purpose I need them they are awesome! Very reliable, excellent durability, very good sound and signal, nice and easy interface and excellent camera. Also love the good stand and talk times.
and tehy are improving a lot!
Angel, 30 May 2011Should I or should I not buy this phone - That is the question...
NOTE this is NOT a review i... moreThat was something really nice. What users usually post is some flaming from SGS2 to Arc or "what is the price in india, pakistan?". This is stupidity. What everybody wants to see is how the phone actually performs. I will get Arc sooner or later, it's just a matter of time. I like the design too much (at least what I've seen from the pictures). Unfortunately the main mobile providers in my country are still on the way of receiving this phone for quite some time. It's "coming soon" for at least a month. On the net I've seen pictures and so, but it's a different thing when you actually hold it. And the same as the OS experience, I've seen reviews on the net, but it's a different thing when you browse the market and you install all kinds of apps and after that you can see how it performs.
I will definetly get it. Thank you for your impressions.
Hi everyone. I dont know what is the big deal if anyone likes a Sony ericsson phone. Samsung s2 is better no doubt but it is expensive also. I think arc is one of the best phone in the market and if someone likes samsung s2 or wants to know about it then he should post his opinion on samsungs s2s forum and not sonys arc forum. If someone doesnt like sonys arc its fine and nobody is even forcing you to buy that. If i dont like any thing i dont say crap about it on its forum. i just dont care and i concentrate on what i like. i dont have sonys arc but for the price its not bad at all. to each his own. we shouldnt fight like kids. we should respect what others like. i have a blackberry and no matter what anyone says it solves my purpose so i am fine with it. Sony phones are not bad and this year they have improved a lot and i am sure they will improve more. give them some time because they have the potential to be the best. peace.
[deleted post]It is because se customized android better than other companies! UX was very bad (on the x10), but now, it is very fast!
Oh, just remembered! How's your sgs2 with yellow screen? Hope you can fix it! fanboy!
Ajmal Basheer, 31 May 2011Hi Dual Core, First of all, I shall answer your final question. Of course I will go for Ar... moreagree with you completely. on a different pitch - arc may be a little slow compared to the sgs2, but that only gives me more time to ogle at the phone :-)
[deleted post]Hi Dual Core,
First of all, I shall answer your final question. Of course I will go for Arc Dual Core.
The reason I say this is because the dual core of a Sony and the dual core of samsung will be entirely different. Even now if you compare Arc's single core with Samsung's Dual Core the Arc might be slower but does Samsung have double the speed of arc? And when Sony releases it's dual core phone, I am 100% sure that it will be faster than the dual core Samsung. So, when you compare, compare within the same category and see who wins.
And regarding the colors, Sony's 65k is equivalent to any other brands 256k. When we say that we are happy with Sony's 65k or 256k, it is because we compare it with the 65k or 256k of other brands and I personally have felt that Sony's display is better. Now Samsung needed an AMOLED screen to bring out the good quality display. But Sony is able to give a better and more real display using the same old LCD screen and BRAVIA technology. Also, when I compared the same photo on Arc and Samsung Wave using AMOLED, I felt an artificial appearance to the display. It is true picture looks great on AMOLED but the colors are fake. The green is very green and the sky is artificially blue. In the Arc, the same picture looked more real. If Sony ever uses AMOLED, you can see how better the display is than Samsung.
So friend, when Sony fans say that 65k is better, it is because it is better than the 65k of other brands. Same with the phone's CPU speed, it is better than any other 1GHz single core phone.
Techradar'd review about xperia arc:
When we talk about a Phoenix Phone, it will forever be the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. A company that was making phones like the Xperia X10 on outdated software less than a year ago has brought out one of the world's thinnest and most attractive handsets, and it deserves its place in the top three.
And it's earned that rank through sheer quality - the things we're impressed with on the Xperia Arc are almost too many to list.
From the beautiful Reality Display with Bravia Engine to the powerful-yet-simple 8.1MP camera with Exmor technology, this is one of the phones that people actually want to hold and play with when you show it off.
The new Sony Ericsson overlay has cool features like an 'exploded widgets' view, and the integration of YouTube searching for videos of songs currently playing is super cool too.
OK, it's not dual-core powered, but until we start seeing some applications that really start to challenge these smartphones, we're happy to recommend a phone that is slick under the finger, slim in the pocket, satisfying in the hand and kinder than many on the wallet to boot.
The hardware is extremely impressive, both in terms of looks and performance. Forget the fashionable dual-core phones – when done right, a single-core 1GHz processor can do it all.
As it is, we're prepared to overlook the Xperia Arc's minor flaws thanks to its stunning good looks, superb screen and very decent photo performance. You can't help but love it once you've held its magically thin body and gazed adoringly into its dazzling Reality Display.
