Hi, I have just bought an Xperia Arc. I am trying to do a conference call and have followed the instructions as per the official sony ericsson site (for the Xperia Arc product). I am able to get 2 people on line and talk to them seperately. But not able to join the 2 into a single call where all of us and talk together. When I press the button which has the symbol of 2 phones on it - the pop message says conference is not possible. Can some please help me. Many thanks. V

adb driver is a part of android sdk,for the developers, which is to be installed in your pc.this is a kind of android emulator,i think, not have much idea, though.u can find the adb driver for xperia arc in net,u have to google for this.
& the .42 firmware is ur stock firmware version,u will find it in settings~about~firmware version as 4.0.2.A.0.42 is it clear enough?

In that forum it says to make sure we have installed adb drivers for our device. What does that mean? And in the list of supported devices, it says Sony Xperia Arc (.42 firmware). What does .42 firmware mean? Any idea?
Ajmal Basheer, 03 Nov 2011Haha... Ustu, in that case why don't you try and tell us how it turns out... LOL!!!
Anyways... moreoh hell yeah, buddy!i'll definitely root my phone when i have the oppertunity, proper knowledge & confidence,u know i'm in short of a pc right now.btw,if u want to know more about rooting,u can go to the x10 forum in this site & ask mobilemaster, afaik his mobile is rooted & he has pretty good experience & he is really helpful.
Well, with all due respect to ur neighbour,i think he is not using the cyanogenmod 7.1 properly.i am giving u the link of changelogs in 7.1,but u need to show some patience,it's really huge.& one thing,it's not the only thing u can do by rooting,xda-guys r still out there:-
i hope this link works!

Anyways I was planning to root my phone after my warranty period is over so that I will not have to repent if it turns out bad coz anyways I will have to pay to get it fixed. My neighbour has Galaxy Ace and he rooted the phone successfully and installed the Cyanogenmod OS. He says it was easy to root the phone and the Cyanogenmod OS is also good but not better in anyways from the original OS. He says that the only advantage he saw in installing it is that we can continue to get OS updates forever even if the original manufacturer of the phone stops releasing updates.
Ajmal Basheer, 02 Nov 2011Hey Ustu,
Is it worth taking that risk? What if something goes wrong while trying to root t... moreumm......well,what can i say?rooting is always somewhat risky,if power failure occurs in the middle of processing,ur phone will end up as bricked.though there r ways to flash ur bricked set, still it's a little techguy thing.that's why laptop is recommended for rooting.so apart from the geeks,we have to go to the servicing center(may be,just may be with warranty violation,i don't know).
Think about the pros of rooting......we can customise our phone almost as we wish, overclock our cpu up to 2.2 ghz(afaik, but could be wrong, anyway it's more than 1 gig),have custom rom-no worry for the low internal space, dump the unnecessary system apps, debrand our sets & the list goes on......
By all means,it's like the taste of freedom.
& the cons r u r violating ur warranty,if u unlock ur bootloader & unfortunately,we have to unlock the bootloader for most purposes.but the good news is still there r apps to lock it back.& finally,u can end up bricked,if something goes wrong.
So,finally, rooting without acquiring proper knowledge is prohibited(imho),but it does worth taking a shot, with all that pros.freedom always cost something,i guess!
Hope this helps to make up ur mind......

Is it worth taking that risk? What if something goes wrong while trying to root the software for example like a power failure, can we still undo the changes and start all over without needing to go to the service center?
