My problems with the new Arc S handset is twofold. One,is what type of file can i download for this phone and two what file can i put downloaded mobile apps.Cus i don't have an internet connection directly to my phone but i can download items from my PC and put them in respective files in my phone. My biggest challenge here is how to get mobile apps in my phone so i can use them. When i download some apps on one or two occasions and try to apply them, they don;t work.
I've gone back to GB 2.3.4 ;-)
Xperia Arc S received 2 ICS upgrades so far (both the 4.0.3 and the 4.0.4 later) The 4.0.4 version corrects many of the problems that the 4.0.3 had, but it's still far from excellent. I had to struggle for RAM and even some apps from the Google Store are being upgraded to work correctly with ICS. I flashed my Arc S back to GB 2.3.4 as it runs smoother and works better with my phone. My advice: If you buy an Arc S, don't update it to ICS if you want a smooth experience.
Anonymous, 15 Aug 2012they put that from 2 weeks but when sony confirmed that it was an error and the ywill receive ... moreGood news. Thanks, fri.
well i think this statement ((Android OS, v2.3.4 (Gingerbread), v4.0.4, not upgradable to v4.1)) means there is no other upgrades for the arc s in future. i recently have upgraded my arc s to ics 4.0.4. and it is working just fine like it was in GGBD without any lags or bugs.
I updated to ICS but am very disappointed. Sim card invalid error always pops up & its very annoying.
Anonymous, 14 Aug 2012dude, if u say so, why gsmarena shows os not upgradeable to v 4.1?they put that from 2 weeks but when sony confirmed that it was an error and the ywill receive an update gsmarena did'nt change that!

Upgraded to ICS and i'm happy with it right now.. First, a little slow and sometimes a little hot on the back cover, but now with some weeks of ICS and some apps helping him, he has 70hrs of stand-by (was near 40hrs with GB) and back cover heating has disapeared. Satisfied costumer, for now..
AnonD-18602, 13 Aug 2012Hi guys, How is ICS 4 upgrade on ARC S. I've read so many reviews on sony official site regard... moreyes that's right the camera is better on Gb , your phone will get a bit slower when you upgrade , but that doesnt mean that ics is so bad , it also has some advantages , for example notifcations are much better , also holding the home button you can close running apps , anyways for me .. Gb was better and faster
