[deleted post]I got this phone about a month ago, and its awesome. The screen is big and bright, colors are awesome, its fast and responsive, touch screen is amazing, camera is very decent (i can easily retire my pocket digital camera), sound quailty is great, i love the noise cancalation feature, and more. Sure, it lacks few things like front facing camera, but it has other, like HDMI port and sonyericsson PC software is way better than samsung Kies.
Dont get me wrong, I like samsung a lot, it makes the best phones, but it doesnt mean that everything else is rubbish.
To people comparing this phone to Galaxy SII, ofcourse SII is better in specs, but its also $200 more expensive. For this money, arc S is amazing. And not everyone can afford/want a $600 cell phone, i rather get a cheaper phone, and invest in a laptop. All the apps on the market (except maybe some games) are compatible with 1,4GHz single core.
Seriously, PLEASE stop comparing tomatos to pineapples.
Im Sony Ericsson fan.. This phone is really Superb..
Real mobile lovers like Sony Ericsson Arc S
stop fighting guys... "SONY Xperia S" is the best phone! so far, a new phone from SONY! without ericsson, way better than galaxy S2, and iphone 4S. with 1.5 ghz dual core cpu, 12 megapixel HD camera, 1.3 front facing camera, with also 4.3 inch. screen.. etc. etc. :)
[deleted post]I would like to know which programmes are using the dual core then before your argument is valid..You say its quad core next,ha,just shows how much of a fool you are to believe this hype..The manufacturers love people like you drooling over spec which is just not needed to buy their latest products..You are the manufacturers delight and just the type of fool they need to survuve..I would rather have a single core at 1.4GHZ than dual core 1.2GHz as spedd is more important and anything graphically involved the Adreno 205 can handle perfectly well.
its hot phone, bt problem is one thing its battery it is not take longtime before finish its charge.i don,t know y.
peso, 10 Jan 2012i'm also using xperia arc s, the phone become hot when u surf internet n using gps at the same... morei dont think we can blame the arc s for the internet connection, because depands on various factors of the phone like the network etc -- from a engineer of phones.
Noobs, Arc S is faster than Galaxy S2 because android 2.3 gingerbread doesnt manage well dual core
SonyEricsson Xperia Arc S is simply the best one, and has beaten all other android devices of the same display size and versions. I've used HTC Desire HD, but SE Arc S is far better than that.
seb, 10 Jan 2012wich galaxy do you mean? the s2? of corse, but... that's a dual core. No singel core galaxy ca... moreThe Galaxy S1 is a bit old now, but quite cheap now and has the amazing Super Amoled screen, which totaly beats the SE Arc S old LCD technology screen. The cpu speed is almost the same as the Arc S.
Of course the S2 is the undisputed best in the world at present.
i think arc s and sg sII have their own pros and cons. No point arguing here.
for me, arc s has better camera and very sleek appearance while sII has better performance..but i dont mean that arc s's performance and sII's camera is very bad.
it really depends on which aspect you'd prefer to have in a higher quality to choose the right phone for you.
i'm a girl, 19 this year, and i've used this phone for about 2months and i'm loving it!:)
p/s: one man's meat is another man's poison.

[deleted post]wich galaxy do you mean? the s2? of corse, but... that's a dual core. No singel core galaxy can beat the Arc S yet, i think...and i'm not SE fan
Hi & Happy NY all,
I am torn apart with S.E Arc S over Iphone 4S.
Apart from its performance, level of user friendly features and of course price.
Can any kind soul advice why I should give Arc S a shot.
I currently using a S.E Xperia Mini 1st Gen. as a phone and a Iphone 3GS as a surfing tool and a so call standby phone in case my Mini go low on it's battery.
The new purchase will be solely be use as a surfing tool.
I thank you all in advance on your time with this input.
