this phone so chunky, i think i will go for samsung gs2. Also, the design of icons so ugly, unlike iphone. only the camera is any good.

I want update my vivaz phone during the arival of vivaz to.its my request to SE.please
Hi Guys, Xperia Neo is released in Taiwan and I got the silver one. I like all the functions it got and I am satisfied with it. The camera, ringtone, music, signal and speed all are perfect and at first I Was worried about the Ram is smaller but in the end there is no problem and I am waiting for Xperia play and it will be released in Taiwan this week price is NT dollar $18800, just buy it and enjoy it!
the way I see it, this phone will be a winner coz it is affordable, and HALF of its features are actually superb (Samsung phones only have one third of their features as useful, sometimes good ;P)
I actually am choosing around for a new phone -- either this phone or the galaxy s2 mini. Here are the pros and cons:
The s2 mini : 1) i like the design, (2) not as expensive as s2, (3) CPU speed is 1.4 ghz with graphics chip, (4) internal mem is 1 gb with 512 ram, and (5) it is on android 2.3, with better UI.
The Neo : (1) unbeatable camera-video clarity, (2) one of the best telephony systems, (3) excellent audio player, and sounds overall, (4) affordable, (5) it is on android 2.3 with more controls, (6) excellent sturdy build quality, (7) includes a document editor, and (8) it comes in my favorite white /silver color.
THE CONS -- WATCH THIS
The galaxy s2 mini: (1) poor camera-video at 5mp only, (2) Build quality is still inferior, with lots of creaky plastic, (3) still expensive, even for an upper mid-range phone, (4) telephony is still inferior to Nokia or SE, and (4) only comes in black color
The Neo : (1) no SWYPE, (2) has only 5 homescreens versus Samsung's 7 homescreens, (3) icons too small, (4) internal mem is 380 mb (why so small??) (5) the "widget view" is inferior to samsung's pinch view for homescreens, (6) the SMS input box is unchanged, and remains very small, making it difficult to see what you are typing, and (7) no original SE live wallpaper pre-installed (fans love LWP)
Overall, I still like the Neo, and if the price is perfect, I will buy it.
this is what ive been looking for i have the vivaz i just wanted android and now i can have the best of both worlds im so excited
Guys you should also consider a very important fact about the Xperia Neo screen, it easily won hands down on many of it's rivals including the iphone4!
Please take a look at the chart in the middle of the page, and in order to understand it, keep in mind :
1- The lower the black number means the better, usually amoleds are 0.
2- The higher the white means the better.
3- The higher the contrast means the better, because it makes the image so live and with vivid colors.
Here are the results :
yada, 26 Mar 2011htc also has poor camera, despite 8mp camera module and HD-class videos.
Best for camera ... moreyup, you are right about 1 thing: htc is not good with video. wildfire and desire has poor video, until they update it to 2.2, and the video became HD so suddenly.. is it real video or just synthetic? how can it change so much just by changing the OS version of android??
I like the neo-- its more affordable and smaller. the arc is too big. also i like the camera quality of all sony ericsson mobiles-- superb, and reliable.
Too bad Nokia can't have any android OS. I will buy Nokia again if and IF it can use android as OS (i hate symbian-- too very slow internet)
neo.aquarian, 26 Mar 2011which one is better HTC incredible s or the galaxy s I9000 or sony experia neo?htc also has poor camera, despite 8mp camera module and HD-class videos.
Best for camera / video quality is Sony ericsson -- remember that. Nokia is second. everybody else -- LG, Samsung, htc, are way down below. That's why samsung and LG always imitate iphone-- performance-wise, their phones suck, so they slap good iphone-like design and lots of gimmicks (3D camera, dual-core, nova display) to get people to buy their products. Korean phone makers, are just a bar above the typical fly-by-night Chinese vendors.
neo.aquarian, 26 Mar 2011which one is better HTC incredible s or the galaxy s I9000 or sony experia neo?get the Neo.. unless it lags like hell.
I have the galaxy ace, and it lags coz i put a ton of apps on it. all samsung galaxys, esp the original galaxy s, have some lag even with 1 ghz cpu. and camera quality is not the strong point of samsung.
sony ericsson is more reliable in terms of camera and audio, even in mobiles. their bravia engine for camera, and walkman audio for mp3s are superb, rivalling iphone.
which one is better HTC incredible s or the galaxy s I9000 or sony experia neo?

To add the infos about phone memory and RAM in xperia neo, if you check on the xperia pro white paper, it's stated that that phone has 1 GB phone memory (up to 320 MB free for user) and 512 MB of RAM.
Hope to see the correct number when already got the phone on meminfo file in the proc folder.
So I'm getting a dual core processor and 1080p video recording phone to get shameful results! Not only that the LG is worse in low light conditions but also it lags as hell!
Thanks but I prefer to stick to 720p and one core since it's the winner hands down!
Another reason why the Arc shines like a star ;)
watch from 2:35 if you want to see the camera comparison:

I hope the glass quality is good. In general most of the touch phones, the first problem that we face is the touch screen getting schattered...damaging the LCD...which leaves us no other option than buying a a new phone!
So phone makers should give first priority to the glass quality of the phone (rather than the metal body provided by HTC phones with cheap glass quality).
Good news - Arc released in Japan 512MB RAM confirmed (waiting for review). Hope Neo also comes out with 512MB RAM!
(P.S - I dont give a damn about how much ROM it has)
Viky, 25 Mar 2011Even the white paper in the below site does not specify the RAM size of Neo....so wait till th... moreHow good is the corning gorilla glass as screen protection? Are you dare to throw a hammer onto the screen? I hope you dont! Corning produces the thin-sheet gorilla glasses with different class of thoughness. A Dell Streak 5 for example has a stronger gorilla glass than the one you found on nokia N8. It means having gorilla glass layer on a display doesn't mean your device is totally resist with all real-world events that commonly caused the glass failure.
While SE arc alone will come with shutter proof sheet on material glass surface, means the scratch resistant glass is also protected by a thin-sheet material to avoid damaged when it's accidentally hit.
And as for neo and pro, I guess they only have scratch resistant plastic material because there's no word mentioned about glass material things. So it would be scratch resistant up to certain hardness level but not from metal (imo)
i'm gonna buy this.
i cant download apps to pc from android market.
phone internet is really expensive here.
what can i do?
