ell the price of 350 pounds come from here...

http://androidos.in/2011/07/so...dated-in-uk/

Hope the retail price will be cheaper after a few weeks.
But SE people are stuck in the past 80s when Sony was the best brand in the world, and could ask for any price they want.
Unfortunately it is not true anymore.

> In reply to Rachana @ 2011-07-26 06:19 from 693j - click to readit may not be bright as s amoled+ or retina display but the bravia engine provides very beautiful images with a nice contrast, moreover the amoled screen has a very shot lifespan and its very much prone to screen burn in,see in wikipedia

after my N70 died, I bought a $30 nokia, because there's no phone which really caught my attention. I do like nokia's ovimap, but symbian is frustratingly slow. My friends bought large >4" HTC, Samsung phones. I don't know, to me, I find it annoying to put a big phone in your jeans pocket. the other Xperia mini seems to have lousy plastic build. So yeah, I'm waiting for this Xperia ray. What I like about it ? looks like nice quality construction , good camera, hotspot support, 299dpi screen, good resolution in a small package. What I dislike? No HDMI support !

I don't know why everybody is saying this handset is too expensive. No one knows the price yet. I remember the Xperia X8 being advertised as £220 on pre-order. It actually came out at £130. I doubt the Ray will be £350, more like £250-275.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-07-26 14:13 from fvJn - click to readThe gigantic Samsung S II is 123,5x66,1x8,5=69,38 cm3, same volume as Xperia mini 69,05 cm3. But it is hard to say they are the same size...And i like phone a bit thick, they are easier to hold.

if u calculated the volume of the xperia ray u will find:
111 x 53 x 9.4 = 55,300 mm cube
and if u calculated the volume of the xperia mini u will find:
83 x 52 x 16 = 69,056 mm cube
conclusion xperia ray is smaller than the mini with a larger high resolution screen n better camera n longer life battery :)

> In reply to LooL @ 2011-07-26 10:09 from Mfxf - click to readRay over Mini
8 mp cam over 5mp
2mp front facing cam(but no video call)over no front face cam
1500mah battery over 1200mah
3.3inch over 3inch
480*854 over 320*480
Very slim design
document editor
some xmor r technology
These are all the differences i found...Apparently you are right..I dont see why its priced too high with no real advantages over mini considering the price gap...

Exactly same specs as the new mini, except for screen 3,3" instead of 3"
From UK web site:
Price of mini: 210 pounds = 340 dollars
Price Xray: 350 pounds = 570 dollars

Why such a difference ??
