is this phone sturdy - it seems quite non-pocketable and its sliding mechanism doesn't make me think it's robust enough. Is the paint coming of easily, as I have read? And I'm not talking just about the battery cover. I'm interested in the black version. thanks

I saw this phone in shop cell of my fren special for me just cost around $250 in second hand but still good

sony erricson its a amazing i have used somany brands but after using i thought to go sony this time and my decision was not wrong It has got all the features which i was looking for camera is awsome music for which sony is famous and the other stuff are also mind blowing

For everybody looking for a 6.5 upgrade read this
"An active member on xda-developers, has claimed that he got his hands on an official Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for the original Xperia X1, which hosts some drivers from the X2, as well as OEM drivers, “new XIP (real x1 nk), and new netcf 3.7 (final)”. What sets this apart from the ROMs that have been cooked up in the past with available Windows Mobile 6.5 assets by third parties, is that this one is fully official and will be publicly available shortly. Apparently the 2D rendering is spectacular on the new software – if you’ve got a mind for that sort of thing.. There aren’t any new panels to be found in this particular software, but it might be made available prior to a release from Sony Ericsson."

I Luv this phone After using Nokia high End phones like e71,91 i,m using it....believe me Window ohones are are amazing !!!!! i can do any thing with this ohone which i earlier use to be with symbian phone window softwares are freely available. My only worry point is its battery life and how i can i upgrade to window 6.5. my id is hsehmi@yahoo.com

GPS problems? Phone freezes when you activate your GPS? People it actualy works. I had the same problem and found the awnser on a simaler site. The problem is QuickGPS for some reason. Erase QuickGPS data. It is in Temp\xtra.bin and Windows\xtra.bin After this the GPS works fine... and I reinstalled and master reset, even thought the X1 finely had it with my rougth lifestyle. But NOOOOooo, it was not my Die-Hard X1. Just some software that gave her a swore tummy.

I also have the problem of the ink on the keys coming off. But this X1 has fallen into a bath, fallen 2 stories onto concreat, and laid for 8 days in the bush (and it rained for 5 of those days!) when I lost it while ring a quad and it still works fine. Yes, it has scars... But swop it for a Nokia, Moto, Siemens... NEVER. I don't think they will make it past week 2 with my lifestyle. GO X1!

to everybody asking about how to upgrade to winmo 6.5...can i make it any clearer i posted the instructions a few posts down the page...if you can't read the simple instructions and are too lazy to make the little extra effort to read the instructions you really shouldn't be operating this phone.

color from the back peels off !
screen came out !!
joystick color faded !!
sony ericsson written on the top of the screen peeled off !!
cant type messages properly on the qwerty board , it takes time to process!!
and i f**kin paid 100$ extra to get the 1st piece in town
