i have checked out some demo pics on the internet of the (demo) X1.
must say, those pics make the X1 looks cheap, in comparison to the official pics of SE.
also, the X1 screen on those un-official pics shows the screen to be very dull and difficult to read in bright light.
but i believe that the (real) X1 will looks similar to the Official pics when it is finally released.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-08-06 04:08 from Bw@eI know about all the input methods of wm. But, with uiq3, you get the whole screen to write which makes it more fun to use. Uiq3 can never match wm but provides a simple and easy to master handwriting recognition.

You have got to be kidding! The input methods on WM Pocket pc's is far more sophisticated than UIQ(I own both). The Xperia X1 has a transcriber which means you can write in a cursive, print or mixed handwriting on the screen and your ink is instantly recognized. With the block recognizer you can enter characters using single strokes letter recognizer functions in a similar fashion.A very useful feature is the word completion-you type a letter and instantly get a choice of 4words(can be 8 with a reg hack) Word completion learns the words your most likely to type which makes for VERY speedy input.

i just find the dimensions of the SE to be more pleasing than the htc touch pro and the design of the backside of the htc touch pro to be a little ugly but if there wasn't the xperia to look forward to i'd probably get the touch pro

I'd rather wait a month and get the Xperia X1.HTC quite cleary insisted on the Touch pro being first on the market. For my money the xperia has the egde in design the steel siver is quite stunning.
