Cab File Full:
Everyone has their own criteria against which they will judge this phone. I am experiaing (sic) incredibly poor battery life, struggling with the move from UIQ3 to Windows Mobile (for example, making a call from contacts is actually a fiddly process, can't always close an application without invoking the X-panel feature. Overall the build quality is good though sometimes the rear cover pops open with no provocation and the slider mechanism feels less well constructed than on my wife's W850.
It is packed full of features. Wayfinder is a joy to use, sound quality is superb in the media player, video playback is excellent and the keyboard is adequate. (I actually find the qwerty keyboard on the P99o easier to use!).
Good: feature packed, well designed, cool factor
Bad: Battery life
Hope this is deemed to be a fair assessment to those of you who enjoy offensively slagging off others who have taken the time to post their comments. To those like you I say, "Get a life".
To xperia X1 owners-how good is the video recording?I read it's capable of 30FPS @VGA resolution.I want a xperia mainly due to it having a powerful operation system but video capture is important to me.My n95 has it's limitations but it does have an excellent camcorder
Vodafone have messed too much with the x1 every other carrier has more or less left it alone but Vodafone had to go and mess with it. They replaced the Google panel with a Vodafone live one that you cannot remove and if you try use the wi-fi it will just not connect .
I got my x1 last week and tomorrow it will be on its way back to them in the morning. I contacted Vodafone about the problems I was having with the wi-fi and was told that in making some of the changes to the phone that they had messed up the wi-fi and it will not work and are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
Sony ericsson have also confirmed Vodafone are having issues with the phones wi-fi and are working with Vodafone to resolve the problem but they also told me that all other networks are unaffected and should send the phone back to Vodafone.
Xperia X1 is an awesome device let down by stupid meddling vodafone
HTC HD is way better for $300 less! SE is going down!
Anonymous, 20 Nov 2008Could be better for the very high price you pay! Then go find one and quit wasting my time and yours complaining about it.
M.RAJIV GANDHI, 20 Nov 2008this model is very cofortable for bussines peoples and very attractive modelYes it appeals to Business Users and Multimedia users..
X1 is the perfect device for both
To many PR and sales B.S. here.
Most of the real users are disappointed with the performance, with features, with the bugyy and slow software.
There are a few very specific problems I have experienced just like others:
- software lock-ups
- Wifi drop outs
- poor reception
- low volume
I also suggest to check the unit out and be sure you have a good return policy with zero restocking fee!
I hope the Hikaru will be much better.
(expected in about 2 months)
L.A, 19 Nov 2008You write like a girl or better, like an apple fan... lolha,ha,you or so funny,go fu.k you'r self,
Xperia is a great phone!!!
I had this phone for a week, its a waste of money. I consider this phone like a toy. The only thing that I like for this phone is the graphics the icon which is very attractive. But for smart phone is not, I'm not
trying to disapoint you out there. Don't take my word for it, you can try it yourself, make sure when you try it ask if there is a restocking fee, especially when you buy it online.
At present the X1 is arguably the best smart phone available or certainly one of the best.
In terms of features it ticks all the right boxes with few omissions. In terms of design and build quality - it is a triumph. The panel interfaces do a superb job of covering over Windows Mobile’s uglier aspects in day to day use.
No TV-out and no TrackID is a disappointment, but I can live with that.
There are other smart phones out there, but few approach the X1’s combination of functionality and beauty. The X1 really is a smart phone for everybody; a combination of superb features, great panel interfaces, luxurious design, impressive battery performance and solid build quality which will make the X1 a handset that will appeal to everyone from the serious business user to the early adopting geek to the multimedia junkie.
