Why are people complaining about the 400 MB of internal memory. It supports Micro SD up to 32 GB! That is amazing.

It also has a 3.5 MM headphone jack, which is rare for SE phones!!!

To answer people's questions- the processor is 520 Mhz and this phone accepts Micro SD only and has 400 MB of internal memory.
By the way, this phone has a 3.5 MM headphone jack, which is very rare for SOny Ericsson! This phone simply rocks!

looks like a great phone. I was waiting all the time for a SE GPS phone. Too bad this is not the one. SE website doesn't say anything about built-in GPS. You can get the GPS Enabler HGE-100, but that's another story.

Love this phone, but the screen at 3" is a bit of downside. Should come with 3.5" so that this phone can take down I-Phone, Samsung F490 & I900.

It will be available in Solid Black - and - Steel Silver straight away, so I think this is where the Nokia comparisons stop ;-)

Also, don't compare this to the N95. The N95 has been out for a year already! The X1 was JUST announced, with no official release date yet. Technological advances in the mobile industry occur on a daily basis, and you're all making comparisons between the conceptual X1 and a phone that has already established itself in the mobile world as a leader.

boo yall

This phone from SE is really shocking, to the point where I am still skeptical.

A SE phone that does not use Memory Stick? I would raise my BS flag...

Oh after a quick check on SE website that Transflash spec is wrong. It is MS Micro. http://www.sonyericsson.com/cw...?cc=us&lc=es

The phone features are nice, but the prism keys are hideous. I guess they did not want to do the same thing that everyone else does but in this case they should have. Golf clap for the 802.11 b/g instead of crappy b only in the P1.

This is truly an awesome phone. Out of the whole mobile phone market, SE is truly the best. This is why Sony Ericsson got the BEST CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AWARD in 2007! I am sure that SE's future Xperia handsets will be even better than the N-series and even more innovative!

Allan, you Nokia fan! This phone beats the Nokia n95 hands down.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
VGA resolution screen
3 inch screen
Stainless steel design + QWERTY keyboard
Touch screen (improves mobile experience)
Long battery life
Handwriting-recognition
Document Viewer/Editor
Better GPS
FM radio with RDS
Amazing sound quality (Walkman)
More internal memory (400 megabytes)
Windows Mobile 6.1 (will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 7 in the future)
3.15 MP with amazing Sony quality (despite the absence of xenon flash. Has LED flash like n95 though!)

Nokia n95
QVGA resolution screen-despite 16 mil. color
2.6 inch screen (2.8 inch n95 8GB)
Plastic/flimsy design - Numeric keypad
No touch screen
Terrible battery life (SE has 5X more)
No handwriting-recognition
Document viewer ONLY
GPS that is inaccurate by 200m.
Visual FM radio (no RDS)
Average Sound Quality with distortions (check on Mobile Review.com under Nokia n95)
Less internal memory (160 megabytes)
Symbian (very unstable! I've tried!)
5 MP camera quality with distortions and processing artifacts
More megapixels isn't better. Quality is more important!

Having owned the n95 and after checking this device out, this device has better functionality, features and design!

SE is the best and it won the Best Customer Satisfaction Award in 2007!
