Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 add-on for the Android™ SDK
* Sony Ericsson splash screen
* X10 colour backgrounds
* A “skin” of the X10 which is a simple graphic of the front of the phone
* A hardware.ini file to set the operating parameters for screen, camera, audio and so on.
Just out of interest, I did a compare between HD2 and X10 and I must say that FOR ME the X10 was easily the winner.
I really like the HD2, but the biggest potential issue is the battery life (I actually like winmo6.5... I know... what's wrong with me?).
The X10 has a slightly smaller screen (that you would assume uses less power?) But quite a bit bigger battery (1230mAh vs 1500mAh or 22% bigger!!) So I expect we will see significant improvement compared to HD2 battery life wise.
Also, part of the X10 weight saving would be due to the use of LiPo battery.
I really like HTC sense though, so I hope the Xperia UX works out well........
On another note, some twats have suggested that the lack of metal on the X10 exterior is some sort of issue? My TD2 has quite bad reception and I expect it might be due in part to the nickel plated front housing.
Ever wonder why the iphone has a plastic back, whereas the ipod touch is stainless?
Metal chassis is good however, and I expect the X10 has one like most good phones these days.

This will be the best Android phone out when it's released! I just can't wait, it will be my first Android phone if I don't get the Nexus one.
I think they've made the best Android UI and made something that works and makes sense. Not enough words to describe the awesome job Sony is doing with this project.
As we've seen from all the videos though, despite the crazy processor thats inside, the videos of the OS was choppy but I'm confident they'll work that all out before it's release.
GO GO SONY!
No need to bash each others you can choose your one
wish you all merry "X"PERIA and a happy new MILESTONE !!!
I bought two, a Milestone and a Aino
Both are awesome !!

I would love if this comes true :(
very disapointed in sony! i love sony but where are the new holiday phones for att!? every other feature att brand has new phones no sonys?! get on the ball your customers are waiting!
since the last sony ericsson phones i had were the P900 and the P910i after i broke them both in tragic theme park accidents :( i went to blackberry with both the curve and the Bold, although they were both good phones , I am completely ready to buy the X10. Just the fact that Sony always try to go beyond what the current tech is and always makes sure that all their products integrate seemlessly is reason enough. Just the DLNA capability, if to stream music,videos or pics between my Vaio, Bravia or Xperia not a problem.

Looking beyond all the political BS posted here, the fact is:
This is an awesome piece of hardware!!!!!!!
Sony Ericsson have done an excellent job on the design, and have a very reasonable balance of all the tradeoffs that have to be made when designing a product like this.
The only hesitation I have had is with the UI, but with each new vid I see, it is getting better and better (as in smooth and fast).
It really is a uniqe UI, and seems to combine appearance and functionality quite well.
Also, I think this will turn out to be an excellent device for custom roms. Imagine what could be done with such capable and beautifull hardware :)
I have loved my previous HTC phones, and the HD2 would be a logical progression but at this stage I'd have to say I'll be getting the X10. Even the passion/nexus doesn't really appeal to me. It's got nothing on the appearance of the X10. (IMO)
