I just got my Xperia X10i yesterday when one of the store rep here in the Philippines called me about the phone availability. I went there in the afternoon and checked the phone. I asked them to reserve the Luster White which looks very glamorous for a girl like me. After few testings of the unit that they reserved, I noticed that everytime I press the mediascape it goes to a blankscreen leaving just the signal icons at top right hand side. We even tried to reboot the phone and it still does the samething. Glad they still have 2 more in their stocks and I tested them before I left their store, glad that I was waiting for my friend last night and stayed at the Sony Ericssons concept store where I found the issue with the phone. I have been waiting for ths phone since I was never satisfied with all the phones that I bought in replacement of my P1i.
Also the transition of the softwares from the main screen to another is slightly slow as compared to symbian OS mobile phones.
I hope that SE will check for thissues. Paying $755 conveted to US dollars for a phone is not a joke. As a computer technologists and soon will be a software developer, I expect that SE will release the software upgrade very soon. Plus kindly check the return and replacement policy here as bugs & phone issues cannot be seen in 7 days. I don’t want the SE shop technicians to open my phone and test it before they decide to replace this phone in case problem occurs since paying $755 again is not a joke for us.
I would appreciate your actions regarding this issue.
In addition of testing, I hope to see and use this following features once Android 2.1 is released fr software upgrade.
1. Multi-touch featue
2. Soft touch when pressing icon(s) on the screen
3. Flash support(this will make this phone more powerful) as most people here access facebook thru their phones.
Adding with this ..
The bluetooth is non responsive, I tried to press the icons from the settings menu & the one which is available on the main screen and still not working. After a reboot, I worked, one thing that I notice was it only gives time to make the phone discoverable by other devices. I tried to transfer a PDF file from my laptop and another dissapointment it took awhile before I transfered the file and after opening the PDF file, since the pdf reader is just a free version, it is limited only to 3 options to fit the file to the sceen width/size.
PDF file reading will be great if there will be a multi touch feature plus a zooming capability for the PDF file.
Now I am having second thoughts in using this phone. I am planning to accept the offer of my network provider to get an Iphone for my service retention.
Again after docomo released X10 in Japan and playing with this using my friend's X10 here is my observations
1. Screen image quality although good but not as good as HTC HD2 or NEXUS ONE, I would say same as Toshiba TG01.
2. Speed of menus opening, a little lag against HTC HD2 and NEXUS ONE, but better than Samsung OMNIA II
3. When running youtube video with full bars docomo 3G signal, image is pixelated, Softbank iphone 3gs youtube just a little bit better.
3. Timescape and Mediascape although impressive but later on made me bored.
4. Finally, I really like the physical design of the X10 unit, better than HTCs and much better than Samsung which patronizes the use of cheap PLASTIC too much.

Even if the indicators shows that the battery is full, it is necessary to give the battery a boost and more charging ours in the first days of owning a cellphone. By the way I didn't make this up. In fact, what I'm saying to you is what I read in the SE manual book in the chapter of the battery status and how to get the best out of it.

Why oh why do you need pinch and zoom. I find it troubble some. I used the iPhone and the pinch and zoom may not be accurate. Your two fingers must land on the screen precisely the same time otherwise it may not register. If using one finger well thats as easy as pointing to the screen. Well which uses more energy the one finger point and touch or the two finger pinch and zoom.

But seriously what's gotten in to you? Do you have like 2 personalities or such thing! Why so kind and nice one of a sudden?? I'm not used to see you like this at all. It's really awkward. Is it possible that your not horrible as we thought you are? I don't know, but seeing a good part in you is just nice.

Honestly to use the built in radio I would need to plug the long troublesome cable headset to get reception. If its bluetooth radio no wires. Its great coz I run every morning and believe me the cable can get a little frustrating getting hooked by my swinging arms. I really appreciate the idea. But if its built in radio with built in antenna well thats a different story but no phones perfect.

True coments from personal owners of the final release. There should be no need for anymore of the silly argueing because now we are getting pure 100% facts. And the X10 is looking great. The 4incH screen is too large for me personally as I prefer a 3inch screen. Remember the LG Viewty in 2007, man that was a great phone in its days and took fanatastic photos and the clarity and volume was awesome. Don't get me wrong, I know LG is made by some third party chinese company and don't have a lot of support. As for Samsung, I more I read I realise how pathethic their customer suport is and upgrade support. PEACE.
Phoenix, 03 Apr 2010But right now, the SE X10 is the phone of the moment?!!!!!!!!!!
i can't believe it's you al... moreIam not SE Hater or dislike x10. Before it was all guessing, promoting, heresay, lies, untrustworthy reviews, argueing etc etc. Thats what irritated me and so many other people. Most was unrelable facts. etc etc
But now the phone is slowly being released to the public. And the public can give us honest personal reveiews. Most of their comments are great with a few small negeative comments. So yes right now, this is the top notch phone to buy, but another company will release a better model in a few months, but thats phone cycle. I really hope SE survives their financial crisis.
BTW, please accept my humble apologies for my rude comments about your religion, terrorists stuff. I lived in Egypy, Israel and turkey for 2 years, so have some understanding of the different religions. And you are right, a good muslin man is honest and doesn't lie.etc etc
phones fan, 04 Apr 2010in the cons you forgot to mention : 2.No secondary video-call camera 3.No Flash support for ... moreSeveral of your issues revolve around the 1.6 software. The multi touch and 65k color are both related to this and don't deserve their own disadvantage. And quite frankly Pressing a zoom button is just as easy as pinching to zoom. And In most cases noticing a difference between 65k and 16 million color with the naked eye is impossible.

6.some lag when starting timescape
