And I thought my white screen was a weird problem. I was amazed by how many people have had this problem with this phone, even after replacing it. I agree that Sony needs to recall this phone adn the other models that apparently do the same thing. I HATE the PTT button, but have never had an incoming call cut off because of it. I found that if you do accidentally hit it while going to answer it, which obscures the screen so you can't see who's calling, you can hold down the PTT button so you can read the display. Obviously, this only works if you don't have your phone set to answer upon opening. It looks like I'm in for a tough time getting this phone replaced. I had no insurance on it - won't do that again. Thanks for all the informative posts.

All these things don't happened to me. I love this mobile, I didn't and I don't have any problem with it. I love sony ericsson and it lasted me a couple of years. I don't wanna change it. But, at the time, it is too old.

This phone is the worst phone I have ever had for many reasons:
1. The PTT button is in the way
2. The phone is hard to hang on to
3. The camera/video quality is terrible
4. The screen went blank/white
5. The sim card is hard to get out
6. You have to hold the on/off button for a long time to get it to cut on.

I love the phone,expecialy the bluetoot and infra-red..its a wonderful phone.

The first Sony Ericsson I had was a z520a, good phone, loved it, had it for two plus years...then the screen went out. Got z525a and I am on my third phone..only had this one four weeks...what screen gone out AGAIN...the screen continues to go out...or no screen..no ring..or no ring-no screen-no dailing...that results in no phone....I telephoned Sony Ericsson and told the rep how dipleased I was with the phone..offered to repair it..and said I could get a loner phone from my service company..well the company knew nothing about that..this time I will be reguesting a new phone from Sony Ericsson or a refund...I really didn't realize this is an ongoing problem...Sony Ericsson does indeed need to do a call back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Z525a asked AT&T for a replacement to another model, they said they have had very little problems with this phone, I guess they can't use the internet either since they must not have seen this site.

This phone was great until, yes, the "White Screen of Death". I opened my phone and it flashed white, then just stayed like it. something wrong with the monitor, b/c i can make calls and everything.

does anyone know how to fix this?

Crap crap crap crap this is my friggen 6th phone and now i got same white screen i hope ericson goes bankrupt

Well it looks like I have become the latest victim of the dreaded White Screen of Death Syndrome!!!. I would say although the PTT button was a pain all and all it was a pretty good phone up until then. u'd think after all the complaint and such that Sony/Ericsson would have fixed this dang thing or came out with a B model or something... Back to my LG1500 till I can get through to the Warranty Center or Customer Service. Hope AT&T don't jack me around cos it's less than a year old!!! I'd say finding all these complaints that this is a phone to steer clear of...

The good thing about this phone is that I can download music from my computer and use it as a ringtones..I mean some of my buddy's phone are more expensive and have better features..but their phone's cant do that...that's the part i like about the phone...now for the bad part....IT SUCKS...cause I'm on my 3rd phone and still having the same problems with the screen going blank..yep I'm on my 3rd replacement phone..I'm afraid to call my service provider cause they're just going to send the same model back to me again..and again the screen is probably going to go blank again...oh well...guest I'll just have to wait until I have money to buy a different phone...this sucks..

I have had 2 of these phones for almost 2 years. One I have had no problems with at all. The other, however, is another story. I am on my 4th replacement in less than 6 months. The screen goes white for no reason at all. I was charged for a new phone because I was told it was water damage. It was not dropped, and it never got wet! This time, I told them NOT to send a Z525, because I don't want to have to exhange it again another 3 or 4 times before I am able to upgrade in 6 months. Take my advise, go with another phone if you have the same issues. They will gladly send you a phone from any other competitor.

I really like my phone.It's really simple to use. It's much better than my old LG.

i dont see why all you are complaining the phone is just fine i just dont like the fact that comparing to my last phone this one is harder to open

When I am forwarding my calls it is adding 1 digit in front of the number. If it is a local area also it is adding 1 so, it is not working properly

Yup, mine also just went blank about a half an hour age... And I was just searching the internet for a solution to the problem, to find out that it is a common problem that is not easy to fix! bummer

WOW! this phone is bull s***! i am on my second one in 8 months and my screen shut off again. all my pics from concerts and everything was a complete waste of effort. everthing i did with it was for nothing. its stupid, both times the phone's screens started freakin out. when i re-open the phone they are black.............forever. DONT! BUY THIS PHONE!

I don't like this piece of electronics.

I leave far a way from a cell tower, and constantly have a bad reception with this phone, missing calls, etc. I tried other cell phones at my place, and they much better connection.

Also, what drives me crazy, is that I can't silent this phone completely. For example, if I select the silent mode, but a batery is almost dead, the phone still beeps. Believe me, it is very annoying during the night time.
