The playback quality through the speaker is very clear but it lacks bass and it's not very loud. Playback quality through the orignal headset is very good, I'm now using my Senheisser headphones and it's even better.
Camera quality is good with enough lighting but when it's dark their is alot of noise in the picture.
Screen size is 176 x 220 pixels, 30 x 37 mm
There are no changeable covers and the screen picture is very vivid and bright

Ramakrishna, I can answer you 2 questions about audio and video. Keep in mind I do not own this, but the info i'm providing is from the SE user guide
for audio:
.mp3 (192 kbit/s for local playback)
.mp4
.m4a
.3gp (audio encoded in AAC or AMR, able to playback AAC_)
.amr
.wav
.mid (level 1 with 40 voices polyphony)
for Video:
.mp4 (video: mpeg4, audio: AAC or AMR)
.3gp (video mpeg4 or H.263, audio: AAC or AMR, able to play back AAC+)
anyone who owns this phone, pls tell us about the playback quality and loudness of the sound.

Hi
I'm interested in buying this phone, but while browsing for user reviews in some of the websites like this one I found one user saying that this phone hangs ofter and he has prescribed not to buy this one.
Will the users of this phone kindly tell their experience with this phone.
Thanking you.
regards, Sri.

I bought this phone 3 weeks ago, and generally Im very pleased with it. The keyboard and overal buildquality-feel stands out positively. A minor designflaw though: opening this phone with only one hand is slightly harder then expected, since the inner edges of this phone is not slanted inwards that much.

To arjun:
In terms of user friendliness, I find SE to be on par with Nokia. Both manufacturers also have more advance themes support to customize the phones to exactly the way you want.
Maximum charging time is about 2.5 hours.

To Dave:
Both your questions have already been answered some time ago but I will provide you with the direct answers this time round. The outer screen does show Caller-ID information as well as a host of other details such as whether bluetooth is turned on, missed calls, incoming messages, etc.... The display is amazingly informative considering its size.
This is meant to be a rather basic phone and so the default package does not come with any memory cards.
Sony Ericsson may run promotions in certain countries though, like for example in Singapore, a 256MB M2 Card is now bundled free with the phone when it's purchased from an authorized retailer.

To will:
It has been mentioned before, again a few pages ago. On my average use of 10 minutes of talk time a day plus quite a bit of messaging, I average about 3 days between charges. 2 days if you are a heavy user.
Not sure how music playback will impact the battery life on the phone because I am using a dedicated MP3 player (Samsung YP-T8Z) for that.

To Shobhit:
I like the phone very much, but I would suggest reading through the opinions and form your own. After all, individual preferences differ from person to person.
--
To angel:
Use the K750i themes. There are tons to download from:
zedge.net
Membership is free.
--
To Scott:
There is a rather boring card game called Blackdeal. Not sure if there are any other as I had deleted a lot of the original items and have replaced them with my own content.
Because the OS is so similar to that of K750i, java games that work on K750i will work perfectly on this phone.
--
To arjun:
I believe you had already ready through the postings and so, your first 4 questions would have already been answered.
Regarding the video streaming issue, this is not a 3G phone and so 3G video streaming is not supported.
GPRS performance is exactly the same as K750i. I get about 40kbps for game downloads.

This is a more frivolous question, but would anyone happen to know which games comes pre-installed on a factory unlocked z550i? Thanks
