Great innovation from SE, both in Design and Technology, this cool phone has a feature which no other phone in earth has. that is 'Gesture control'- Simply wave your hand over the phone without touching to mute an incoming call or to snooze ur alarm. this will obviously open up new doors of technology.

Don't even compare your UGLY Nokia prism that looks like a remote control for television with this elegant phone and Z555 is much better design than your ugly bulky NOkia prism

guess it's obvious to anyone this has the same design language as the nokia prism... just this is a clam shell, and some different details ofc. but seeing the real phone it didn't have the same build quality and material...compared with 7900 at least

Well if were to choose a color bet. black and dusted rose, I would rather choose the color "dusted rose" for this phone.

Ericsson announces new multi-processor mobile platform powerhouse
Posted by Will on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 at 2:52 pm under Technologies, Sony Ericsson, Announcements

It's all about all-in-one powerhouse mobile platforms these days. Multiple processors, high-megapixel camera support, high-speed data support, mobile TV, 3D gaming - the trick is getting all that power integrated into a single platform.

Ericsson has just gone live with their very own powerhouse mobile platform, the Ericsson U500 (not pictured). With a next-generation architecture that leverages triple-processors and a multimedia subsystem (think TV, gaming, video, music, the works), the Ericsson U500 "is a powerful multimedia platform with performance, graphics and usability, more resembling a mobile computer than today's mobile phones. With the U500 platform Ericsson will keep its world leading position within the multimedia mass market for years to come," according to Robert Puskaric, head of Ericsson's mobile platforms business.

Three ARM11 CPUs, hardware accelerators, integrated digital baseband and multimedia chip (on a single processor die), and increased efficiency combine to deliver a mobile platform that can handle a 12 megapixel camera, high-quality video recording, WVGA display, 3D gaming, 3D UI, high-resolution video, and CD-quality audio performance - all in a single package.

Talk about a mouthful. The point in bringing all these components together in a single die is that it will result in lower prices and greater efficiency - two things we're big on over here. It looks like the near future will be filled with mobile devices that last longer while doing more.

We're looking for Ericsson to launch their U500 mobile platform in the 1H 2009.

Full press release.
