I have had this phone since Feb/07, up till this day it still functions properly. I've been so lucky with this handset. After all those times when it dropped from my bed to the floor and after i misplaced it and somehow found it soaked with coffee, all i had to do was replaced the battery (luckily, my sis had exact the same phone) and the keys still functions the same. It still allows me to make my phonecalls, record sound files, send text, picture and video messages. I personally thinks that SONY ericsson is a very strong, good quality long lasting phone compare to all other phones I know. Its very reliable, simple and easy to use. Its not the best looking phone in the world BUT! its great with all the features (i.e. bluetooth, picture, text, sounds, ringtones). Definitely, would rate it a 8.5

This phone is great, I am posting this message merely for the respect I have to it. Dropped it real hard several times, Nothing. A wave took it into the ocean, nothing, left it in my pants in the washing machine, heck its even better. Had it for 2 and a half years and still going strong. I wouldn't change this baby for anything else. I mean the technology nowadays isn't half as good as many other cells out there, but it serves its purpose...

I had this phone for over a year. Great phone. Droped it, got water in it and still works like a monster. Just switched it with sony ericsson w380. Z710 is better then most sony ericssons.

I had this phone for 1 year and phones don't usually stay with me that long. One of the best phones i've had if not the best.
+ve:
-very fast response
-Solid durable feel, and the right weight
-clear screen with decent resolution
-very reliable buttons that are ideal for text messaging
-Quality look and feel would definately buy again
-ve:
-the internet shortcut button is misplaced, i always press it accidently
-screen resolution is low for a high end clamshell phone
-2MP camera somehow looses its clarity through time
Overall:
Performance/response : 9/10
Design : 8/10
Features : 7/10
for about $130 this phone is a bargain, even if it is a 3 year old phone.

this fone is indestructible! the browser speed is crazy bt,l.c.d is to bright and piercy.bt,d sound and ba3 is awesome great mobile.

I have this phone for the past 1.5 years.
this phone is really good looking and was working fine till now. many told me that flip phones are not reliable but that is true to some extent because now im facing problem with this mobile.The speaker is not working now.planning to change my mobile now.
pro's:
good looks
monochrome display with display and keys
sound quality is good
external speakers can be attached to it
cons:
lacks flash(so night mode sucks)
flip creates problem as time goes
Overall experience: nice mobile

i have this phone for a year and a half,or so ,and what i can tell you is that this phone is best there is !!!good quality of music,good camera(for 2 MP),works great on the internet!

like jassie it was the best phone i had but i lost mine overseas. This phone is quite durable like a nokia phone. The camera is good considering..but it has no flash.
This is a really really good phone but its counterpart the w710i is sh**

does this phone have an answering machine? answering machine and voice mail are different.. i have a friend who has a phone which is samsung SGH 490 that has an answering machine in one of its menu in its messages.. i'm just curious if sony ericsson has one.. please please reply especially to those users of this phone.. thanks so much!!!

Hi, I have two questions for all Z710 users out there :)
I recently got my firmware flashed to the latest version, and two things seem to have changed on the blue external screen, I was wondering if anyone knows how to get these back or if it's the same on your own Z710i.
The radio screen has changed- the RDS text has become small and the same size as the normal font. On the old firmware version the RDS text on the radio was much bigger and fit neatly on the blue display, I much preferred that.
Also, there was this cool animation that played on the blue display whenever I was in a call, which was these white squares that faded diagonally. I really liked this but on the new firmware version the screen just stays all blue. Is there any way to get this back as I loved this quirky feature.
I'd just like to say the Z710i is the best phone I've ever used and I wouldn't swap mine for anything else. Thank you everyone :)
