Sony is definitely doing great with the firmware updates lately. The latest one is already heading to the Xperia Z Ultra phablet users around the globe and brings some key improvements.

Here is the unofficial changelog that early adopters have managed to compile so far:

  • X-Reality for Mobile display engine included
  • Superior Auto mode included in camera settings
  • Enhancement of stock email
  • Improved battery life
  • Improved video playback
  • One-hand keyboard operation possible now
  • White background UI

All those features are sure to improve the user experience of early adopters of the phablet quite significantly. In case the update isn't available for you just yet, keep calm - these rollouts are gradual and you might have to wait a few days for it to reach your device. It's a good idea to check both over-the-air service and the Sony PC Companion software, though.

Thanks, Anurag, for the tip!

Is there any reason to use a stock email? I only use it when I go to fashion week to not miss an e-mail. Do other's do the same for trade shows? Can someone explain the deep reasoning?
