I know Abt white Magic it just a sensor..which senses the light around..and jus... morebefore you make any stupid claim please read some whitepaper
both, display and processor are good at saving battery
but still battery usage may various on what application running in the background, if bigger battery capacity used, it will be better
Hello everyone, I see there is lot of people talk about the battery capacity is low. I will tell you what I think, and why I will be buying this phone as soon as it hits the store.
I start with the battery cuz that seems to be the biggest issue that people is talking about. I been reading a lot about the white magic and I must say that the tech is just amazing, the idea is not only to save battery life, it also to be able to use the phone in direct sunlight.
With WhiteMagic technology, the display operates in two different modes called outdoor mode and indoor mode. To simplify, outdoor mode can be described as a mode using all LED lamps that provide backlight, while in indoor mode half of the LEDs are used. With the same content shown on the screen, outdoor mode reaches double the brightness compared to indoor mode. In other words, indoor mode can save up 50% of the power. Indoor mode saves power by intelligently analysing the individual content’s colour composition, so there are no worries about colour distortion. The Xperia P is equipped with a sensor that measures the light in the environment, and depending on the surrounding light the display settings are automatically changed between indoor and outdoor mode.
In the settings menu, you can choose to manually set the level of brightness. In this case, the use of indoor or outdoor mode is fixed and the light sensor is turned off. This means that when choosing a high level of brightness, outdoor mode is always used, while with a low level of brightness indoor mode is always used.
When automatic brightness is enabled, there are two options for users – bright mode and power save mode. In bright mode, your phone will always prioritise a bright and clear viewing experience and at the same time save power compared to other displays when indoors. In power save mode, the WhiteMagic technology is combined with a lower level of backlight to save even more power. It has up to 50% lower backlight compared to bright mode. This way you prolong the battery time, which lets you use your Xperia P even longer without charging. However, in both cases the backlight is adapted to surrounding light to provide a comfortable viewing experience.
Xperia P is capable of up to 935 candela per square meter (cd/m2) which is more than any other phone with the same level of pixel density (pixels per inch – PPI) on the market.
By using as much white as possible in the content shown on the screen, you can make your app less power consuming when running it on an Xperia P. For example, if you have a use case where power efficiency is crucial, you can save a considerable amount of power by using only black and white. When your app is running on Xperia P, the display will then save up to 50% in power consumption, compared to most other displays. In addition, almost all use cases where natural photos are used saves power, since these normally contains a lot of white. Also, Images of humans and natural surroundings save a lot of power, since the colour saturation tends to be low in these kinds of images.
Well that’s about the whiteMagic, then people say that there is not enough space in the phone, well that for sure will not be any issue for me, I use Dropbox or just Box anyway, I mean all the pictures or movies that I take with my phone will be automatically uploaded to Dropbox and will be there safe and sound even if I would drop the phone I would always have the pictures, and then I just buy a new phone :).
Also using a memory card only slows down the phone, the more stuff you put into that card the slower the phone gets to be able to read the card as fast as possible. So I would never buy a phone that has slot for memory card, it’s just useless. Well maybe to copy stuff from or too the phone, but I would never leave it in there and install apps on it. This is my 2 cents.
Can Any one tell me..How to send feedback to SONY's Mobile Developer....Bcoz Xperia P is Best mobile in its Specification. But the only main thing is NO MEMORY CARD And Low Battery Power. Bcoz of this just TWO fault's in this mobile. This Mobile is Going to get Low RATING...PLS How to send this FEEDBACK to SONY's OFFICIAL site...PLS SEND ME LINK....HOW TO SEND FEEDBACK TO DEVELOPER.....
I know Abt white Magic it just a sensor..which senses the light around..and just increase and decreases the BRIGHTNESS according to surroundings..For that we can Simply Decrease the Brightness and make the battery Backup Time More...Which usually smart phone mobile user do for increasing the Battery back up....As A Mobile USER THE MAIN THING IS MORE BATTERY BACK UP NOT OTHER THINGS...
The Next is ST-Ericsson NovaThor.....
Hello Anonymous..Can u pls tell me about this...Bcoz to Make Xperia P as Best mobile..we need Battery Back UP...It has Many FEATURES...But we cant take electricity where ever we go....
