Dejan NS, 09 Sep 2012Guys, I have one question. When phose is locked and unlocking method is "slide to unlock&... moreWhen you have selected slide to unlock, that means anyone can just unlock your phone without your concern, so i think dropping down notification bar is also allowed, but when you select other method like pin or pattern, that means you are restricting access of your phone, so in that mode it is not allowing to do anything else without entering pin or pattern.

nehme, 14 Sep 2012when the xperia s will get the jelly bean??Until now Sony has been quiet about Jelly Bean update for SXS. Sony Xperia S should be the first Xperia model to get the first taste of Jelly Bean considering that this is their first flagship for 2012 which was release last March. Samsung's flagship (Galaxy S3) will get the Jelly Bean next month and this was only release last May while SXS was March. Come on Sony, don't go back to your old way (Sony Ericsson) updating your Xperia line up particularly your flagship like Sony Xperia S.
I am currently playing with a Sony Xperia ARC, very similar in look & design. Dual-core is definitely a bonus these days with all the exciting apps to play with, I would definitely keep an eye out when one comes around..
nehme, 14 Sep 2012when the xperia s will get the jelly bean??Sony xperia s is officially in the AOSP,along with Google's nexus devices, so i am guessing it will definitely get vanilla jelly bean and if it works out well, the next two major updates(judging from google nexus s which came with gingerbread and is now on jellybean)

ooka, 14 Sep 2012hey all,
a quick question, if any one tried the new update 6.1.A.2.45 for Xperia S at Egyp... moreFriendly advice: stay sound with GB 2.3.7
I have it since mid April. I had 2 updates to ICS 4.0.4:
After the first (don't remember build number) the phone turned to a "brick" - lagging, hanging, restarting, and forcing resets). Camera button did not work from "sleep" anymore...
Second update (Build number 6.1.A.2.45) has brought it back to life, but it still isn't as smooth as it used to be. It still hangs once in a while but works more or less fine. On a good day - no lagging. Free memory after reboot is between 75 and 100 MB - far too low for smooth and reliable operation!
Stay with 2.3.7 and you'll have one of the best phones around. "Upgrade" and you risk serious downgrade. I wish I hadn't done it. Up to you.
PS. Battery life is fine - but I can't confirm that it is better or worse than it used to be - feels more or less the same to me. ICS has rearranged "Yes" and "No" options and other menus and commands. They might be better than GB, but they are different. If you were used to the old layout the new might bother you for a long while.
PPS. Oddity - the phone has the "light sensor", but it is not (and cannot be) used for automatic screen adjustment - not in GB nor ICS!
PPPS. I was very happy for some 2-3 months while it was on GB, but now I kinda regretted the purchase, all the magic has gone now. I also have Sony Tablet S, and it has 3x more free memory upon restart (it is on ICS 4.0.3 now).

doraisingam, 13 Sep 2012The "worst" mobile(for it's cost) I ever seen. My previous mobile was Galaxy-S2 and ... moreYou are such a wannabe that you cropped up the whole story about Xperia s ( all negative) and in the end made your cheap copied company Samsung s2 a winner.
I was literally laughing while reading your story that how 2 Xperia s ( 1 would have been imaginable.. But 2 omg) were criticized abd bashed. U ARE A typical fanboy.
