[deleted post]Hi,it is normal for smartphones to heat up when in use as it has a lot of applications running in the background. It is also normal that the battery drains fast when wireless communications such as WI-Fi, mobile data or 3G and Bluetooth are being used. Or try repair your phone since it is upgraded to ICS maybe it is a software glitch.
If PC Companion is already saved on your computer, please be advise that you uninstall it first then reinstall the updated version prior to repairing the phone software.
Note: Please be advised to back up your personal data saved in the phone memory such as contacts, messages, files, photos and videos before doing this procedure to prevent data loss.
Here is the link to download the updated PC Companion: http://www.sonymobile.com/glob...c-companion/
To do a software repair:
1. Open PC Companion
2. Click Support Zone
3. Click Start
4. Phone Software Update
5. Click Start
6. Repair Phone
If the issue still persist, you may proceed to the nearest Sony service centers in your place.
Hope it helps!
I m bit confused now... some says battery got improved with ICS updates some say they are still having the issue... could any one please provided me trusted facts :)
A reply will be much appreciated.
[deleted post]I dried the battery in Five and half hour if The Brightness set to 100%. I used it for browsing and chatting. And for the data connection I used Mobile Network. The device is not so hot like u said :)
Hi pals ... I have a small question regarding my SXS ... It gets heated up too soon and the battery drains jst too quickly just in about 8 hrs ! Does anyone know why this is happening ? Is there any problem with the handset ? And yes ive upgraded it to ics already
can anyone pls post me the advantages of going to xperia s over s2??pls..
anyone having problems playing dead trigger in their xperia s?
my gameplay is smooth no lags
but their appears to be some graphical hitches
some textures of the zombies' clothes seem to look....transparent/translucent
I tried taking a screenshot but the screen registers normal textures
it seems the problem occurs only when I move around in my character
do you know Xperia Go?
'Made to resist'
It said the phone with extra durability and the spec is the same about Scratch Resistant Glass.
Because of my experience problem with the screen, I can doubt that the Xperia Go still has poor scratch resistant glass too! So be careful ! Do not BELIEVE it.
One of the big merits of this phone over other Android smart phones is that it does not have to be rooted in order to install ICS rom before the official update released by the each SI number. There are already Swiss and German generic version of ICS with firmware version 452 or a newly leaked UK version of ICS with firmware number 453. I have installed the version 453 using flashtool 9.0 and the procedure is just simple. Sony released pre-rooted ICS rom for user to download, unlike other leaked rom from the XDA-developer which required a rooted device. Good job Sony.
I was no doubt about Sony about scratch resistant glass so I just put it into my pocket without worried. And I regret it, I should doubt it for the first time when I bought it.. Ugh :(
Yeah SONY is MAKE BELIEVE :)
About pre-applied screen protector, Yes there is pre-applied screen protector but I didn't know it until you guys mentioned it.
So I can say:
The function of pre-applied screen protector is to PROTECT the scratch resistant glass. I'm sorry, it sounds FUNNY to me.
Maybe the Gorilla Glass is too humble to say their product as Scratch Proof Glass than Scratch Resistant Glass.
ooka, 01 Aug 2012any SXS user please advice i loved the phone and am willing to buy it, BUT i watched few vi... moreMy brother bought it yesterday. I own the galaxy nexus and as u know nexus has Super Amoled HD with 316ppi and Sony xperia s has TFT LCD back light with 342ppi. Nexus Super Amoled HD has more contrast and richest color than Xperia s Bravia engine but it looks kind a bit weakness due to the Super Amoled technology that has more contrast and real black. Over all Xperia s has more sharper and more realistic color than Super Smoked HD, but the the white looks too white on xperia s.
dodo, 02 Aug 2012Oh and the quad core kicks butt Of what?.. Battery i guess?
ooka, 01 Aug 2012any SXS user please advice
i loved the phone and am willing to buy it, BUT i watched few vi... more I have been using SXS for over 3 months and I can assure you that it has one of the best screens out there! I saw the video link and understand your concern.
First, the video has been shot from an angle, and SXS screen doesn't have such great viewing angle (worsened by the pre-installed screen protector) like SAMOLED or IPS display & hence its colours appear to be washed out in this case.
Second, the video camera can be caliberated wrt a particular display (to be shown as neutral) thereby showing one to be better than others (which in this case seems to be well caiberated for HOX).
Third, sony bravia engine actually does work, but only while viewing videos or photos (if enabled) enhancing the contrast/colour vibrance, which unfortunately doesn't seem to work in the current ICS build by sony.
Also check out the link below SXS screen vs HOX screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-D-mwKwZAo
This shows contrasting result to the link you posted!
I say, don't belive me or the videos, just check out the Xperia S screen yourself at local demo stores and believe what you see!
Scratch Resistant doesn't mean Scratch Proof. Just remember that when a scratch turns up on any phone. I dropped the Sony and it went scooting across the ground face down... Case dented bad and screen minor scratchs. Dropped my Samsung in a similar manor. Case fine screen no scratchs. I guess Scratch Resistant glass vs Gorilla Glass.
