> In reply to qahara @ 2013-12-26 03:07 from KZ8Q - click to readWell Sir Qahara,I have no full garantee that using a Samsung USB cable will be safe.I strongly recommend you use the original sony xperia sola USB cable for a full and safe update to andriod ICS version.Because according to one of the cautions that was mentioned on the sony pc guide,it strongly warned that xperia sola users must use the original usb cable for its update.
Bro,i probably think you should try looking for the original cable to buy from a legal phone shop... Because even if you use the samsung usb cable to update your xperia sola successfully, you cannot risk to have severe bugs and problems after your update to ICS on your phone and aside all,it goes totally against your phone's warranty
So please bro sorry if you lost your usb cable but i am sure you can get a brand new one from legal phone shops or you can even borrow a friend's sony xperia sola usb cable to update successfully. So what trying to do by updating with a sumsung usb cable is unknowingly quite risky.......Hope you totally agree with me???.........Thanks for your concern............

> In reply to sola27 @ 2013-12-27 11:06 from bEWQ - click to readThe option is available.......
But because of your upgrade to the ICS version the location has been changed....
This is where you can find the 3D panorama camera...
1.Tap or Open the camera.
2.On your camera screen you will see a list of options for example;Capture, lightening, shooting mode etc.
3.Simply choose or tap the shooting mode...please if you can't find it,it is on far top left side of the screen when you turn the phone horizontally or landscape......The icon looks like a small box in a big box...
4.Tap it and it will open a slash menu indicating different types of camera modes namely;SCENE RECOGNITION,NORMAL,3D SWEEP PANORAMA,3D SWEEP MULTI ANGLE and SWEEP PANORAMA.
5.Good,well enjoy your new ICS version...........cause a lot of super features has been added to enhance the phone enjoyment and confort, like the talk back service which enables the phone to talk or mention anything your hand touches on the screen, floating touch, super gaming controls and graphic enhancer, super bravia video and image enhancer engine, the best update for walkman and more................Explore the new possiblities of your sony xperia sola with the ICS version...............ENJOY......................

Is there a fix to touchscreen not responding issues? Specifically, the top left corner icons not responding while others do respond but takes a little effort (a single touch, soft or hard, may not help the first time). Any suggestions, please update.

Sony Xperia Sola has a known issue with touch screen not responding. Most notably, the top left corner icons on any screen does not respond at all (Eg. : Contacts icon in Applications screen; Gmail icon in the next screen; Google+ icon in the third screen; Liveware Manager in the fourth screen.) Touch is as it is pathetic; trying to unlock by swiping the finger is a very difficult task; once unlocked, using any icon is difficult, specifically the top left icons not responding at all - even after updating the software to the latest, doing reset procedures, etc. A simple search in the Internet gives a plenty of users facing this issue and also demonstrating the same by videos of the phone. Very upsetting.

1. Sometimes wifi cannot be turned off (power off - power on - turn wifi OFF is the only way that works).
2. A battery saving setting makes your calls drop and your phone unreachable, turning it off fixes that... (Battery saving function that supposedly turns off data connection when you´r screen is off or something like that)
These problems seems to be pretty widely known, but unfixed by SONY. I am really disappointed in them and wouldn´t recommend sony to anyone.....

> In reply to Darkarcher @ 2013-12-08 12:11 from 6PGW - click to readNo,there will not be problems if you update to the ICS andriod version with''sony pc companion''.In fact the ICS version is pretty cool.I have installed it using the sony pc companion and OMG not a single problem on my sony xperia sola, infact it's working better than the gingerbread andriod version. So i would say its safe to upgrade to the ICS version........Go ahead,i have updated to andriod ICS version for about a month now without a single problem.Gooooooooo aaaahhhheeeeaaaaddddd ,it safe to go andriod ICS......

> In reply to assous @ 2013-12-04 14:49 from fvjF - click to readIts a very simple procedure.Just follow these steps.

1.simply connect your USB cord to the phone and computer.WARNING!!!it must be the USB cable that came with the phone when you bought it.

2.when you are done connecting the two devices together, thus the computer and the phone, using the recommended USB cable, check on the screen of your phone.you will see a notice has appeared on your phone screen.the notice is''INSTALL SONY PC COMPANION''.

3.once you see this note, tap ''yes''or''install'' on your phone screen and follow its installation procedure on your pc screen.

4.When you are finished with the installation, the sony pc companion program now installed on your pc,will automatically scan for available updates for your phone using your pc internet connection.

5.It will then notify you that your sony xperia sola can update to the new andriod ICS version. Then will then ask you if you are ready to update.

6.Simply click 'yes' or 'begin update' and the sony pc companion will provide simple step by step instructions for you to follow so that your sony xperia sola can begin to update the andriod ICS version.

7.Follow the update instructions and VOILA you are now using the android ICS version 4.0 on your sony xperia sola.

Please note that the whole process requires good internet connection for your pc so as the pc companion can successfully install your ICS android version. It is also the safest and most recommended way...

Feel free to write back incase of you are expriencing any difficulties with instructions or have successfully gotten the andriod version 4.0 on your phone.CAUTION!!!this procedure only works for sony xperia sola.''Do not try on any other device!!!!''..........Thank you very much for your attention..........
