AnonD-25909, 29 Aug 2013Hi Guys, I am interested in buying this phone. But I read that users are facing so many prob... moreI was facing the same dilemma as you but I bought sp last night and I think so far that either it is fate or maybe the new update has actually taken care of the touch issues cause my phone updated and and I haven't faced that issue. Camera stills are ok but the video recording is quite good. Battery is ok if you are keeping the screen on for too long. It is actually the standby which is good.

Sony done a great job for launching xperia SP. It is fast and elegant. inexpensive LTE capable handset. It is my second xperia, first is sony ericsson arc s. I really love sony's innovation. Buy this phone, you'll not regret it.

Ok this would be of real interest for all the people who often ask about SP vs Tx vs T vs S vs SL. Since I now own all of them I'll share my thoughts and list down as follows,
1- Form factor / design: The design is very interesting and it will definitely stand out in a crowed or shall I say "galaxy"... SP is not that bulky or heavy in real feel as much as it may appear in numbers. Surprisingly the phone is really very comfortable and the overall finish also feels relatively high end. Although the device weighs 155g yet you do not really feel it since it's very well balanced. As far as the comparison goes I'd like to mention that as a general rule people should always remember while comparing that a flagship device is always a flagship device no matter what and so Tx in particular still has that extra bit of class to its overall feel and the same goes for T. However in my opinion Sp feels better than its closer cousins the S and the SL.
2- Display: SP's display is very nice and very very bright. However the viewing angles aren't as good as especially the Tx. However, when compared with S and SL the display has more punch as it is brighter and larger. While the display in general may be very much satisfying for many it may not be so desirable for those who are very fussy about viewing angles or the washed out effect. To me Tx has unmistakably the best display in the lot.
3- Overall performance: Needless to say that so far I have found SP to be snappier and responsive as compared to the other phones. So far I haven't felt the touch response to be weak or less responsive, in fact I somewhat found the touch better than the rest. However, I must say none of them is sluggish at all and they all perform very well specially Sp, T and Tx. In fact not many would even feel a real difference unless they have an experience or a history with any one or few of them (like myself).
So far I am very happy with SP and I'd stick to the suggestion that SP would be a better choice since it is a newer device with a much much much more powerful hardware and a possible better future firmware update support. I would like to add here that while suggesting Sp as a preferred option, the following assumptions have been made,
# The camera is not of main consideration
# The front facing camera doesn't have to be as super
# The user would not be installing too many apps at a time and therefore the internal memory is not as much of an issue.
I'd update as the time goes by. Hope this helps.
