[deleted post]yes an A9 core will probably not be present on a phone in this price range. maybe its an A5 core. 800 or 850 is the same if you compare it to the tipo. Still its good. and yes GLONASS is something which you can't expect in a phone of this range. probably the specs we see are not right. the main thing is the performance of the device and it runs ICS smoothly.
th3D, 19 Sep 2012You are wrong, Galaxy Chat PROBABLY has no REAL GPU and its processor is Arm11. Its basically ... moreit is an arm v7 because a video on youtube showed firefox running on it and another showed youtube videos playing in the browser which is not possible in ARM11 (or ARMv6). and yes GLONASS support is there. at least it is mentioned in the specs.

Its basically a Galaxy Pocket whn it comes to specs. The display is only 320x240, thats all it can handle without a GPU.
I like qwerty fones, the last 3-4 years all my fones been sideslider qwerty, N900, Desire Z and now last Xperia Pro, but my next high end unit will not be qwerty as no manufacturers are willing to launch a HD QWERTY SideSlider, Sony has even made a statement that they will not make a new one because "bigger full touch" is what is in demand now, QWERTY fones have become a niche,
AND THATS WHY SAMSUNG is not gonna release a qwerty Galaxy with good specs.
Edit: Glonass support is also very doubtful
i am planing to buy this phone in this month. plz tell me that can we move apps to the sd card...plz help me...
Very Nice Low Budget phone from Sony . .

If I wouldn't have wanted the keypad then I would have waited. the price is also better and it is getting very good reviews unlike this one.

mike, 18 Sep 2012Sony xperia tipo ST21i have no built in digital compass. I bought it and i'm very disappointed... moreyeah both tipo and htc explorer does not have compass sensors , also tipo does not have ambient light sensor , though explorer has that
hi friend iam planing buy tipo mobile ..but gsm arena said sar value is
SAR US 1.37 W/kg (head) 0.74 W/kg (body)
SAR EU 1.62 W/kg (head) 1.30 W/kg (body) .....i am confused please help me.what is risk?
Sony xperia tipo ST21i have no built in digital compass. I bought it and i'm very disappointed. Check your list with tipo's specifications, at sensors, it's wrong.
going for the galaxy chat over this one. the physical keyboard is very nice and I love it. although the res is low but it is smoother than this one. it has the same ui as the gs3 which is totally awesome. I dont play games so the absence of a gpu does not bother me.
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2012Ok that failed badly, the Tipo headset doesnt work at all with the N85.
Anyway, i find it ... moreyeah thanks , yes the sound was clear no doubts about it , but i felt quite underwhelmed after that as i had high expectations from sony , the sound in speaker was exceptionally loud and clear though , but it was a different story with the headphones on :( . also if you have another pair of earphones or pc headphones do try them as well in tipo and see if that makes a difference .
and xloud works only in loudspeaker not on earphones

Anyway, i find it to be loud enough for me, but this is not the phone i would want when drinking beer and listening to AC/DC, for example, its not loud enough to inspire anyone to go headbangers. I feel its loud enough to keep background noise on a distance, and the good thing is that theres no distortion at full volume even with the loudest MP3s.
The Tipo has xLOUD, but that doesnt make a difference when using headset, only for the loudspeaker.

rish-, 18 Sep 2012please reply how do you find audio quality in earphones. i found out that the volume of tipo i... moreI didnt put memory card with my personal MP3 collection yet, so im testing only with the preinstalled music that came with the Tipo and the included headphones, so this isnt a very accurate test, i may come back later with more info.
First impression is good bass dynamics, bass is firm, not sloppy like an old whore as it usually on cheap phones and cheap mp3 players.
Volume is a bit on the low side yes, but not terrible low. Really need to test with some of my own music. Its acceptable loud with one of the included songs, Nose Grinder or whatever its called, it has some el guitar riffs that sounds ok.
General sound quality (midtone) is kinda low, but that is to be expected with the included headset
