Reply to email@example.com. will xperia u works good after update to ics
A few mentions of high SARs, so it's obviously time for another reminder that the FCC SAR of 1.62W/kg is clearly an error. Such a high SAR, although not automatically dangerous due to the safety margins the FCC apply, would mean the phone was illegal to sell in FCC-regulated markets, where the legal limit is 1.6W/kg. Since the Xperia U is not illegal to sell, it's obviously an error.
Its true FCC SAR of 1.09W/kg (taken directly from the FCC assessment) is still a little higher than some, but very average for a modern smartphone.
Note that SAR in the European Union is measured using a different method, and is stated as 1.22W/kg, with the legal limit of 2.0W/kg.
Do bear in mind however that SAR is an average measure, so any phone (Xperia U, iPhone, whatever) may peak higher than the stated value.
