After all the problems with Sonys laptops between 2007-2014, totalling 7 recalls with exploding batterys, its no wonder Sony has made some drastic changes. Plus the law suits from Dell that had exploding Sony batterys also.
Currently, there are numerous new technologys facing battery problems, mostly based in USA.
Anonymous, 02 Dec 2016What use is stereo speakers if the volume is too low ? ....Sony has overheating problems, ...l... moreSony shouldn't be avoided, but they should considered alongside the competition with all the pros and cons taken into account.
What should be avoided is asking a question like 'what should I go for, a Sony or........' on threads like this, fanboys live for stuff like that, they think all their christmas's have come at once when they see such a question.
Now I agree with your comments regarding the volume of the stereo speakers, the ongoing issues with the heat management and the short comings of the cameras on 'X' series devices.
The screens being low resolution though, that's not an issue. The displays on modern Xperia's are actually very good and very competitive, those prattling on about burn in issues on Amoled screens have their heads buried firmly in 2012 and will likely change their tune in short order should Sony decide to utilise that tech in the smartphones, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Xperia X series devices currently have great displays.
Sony also are leading the way in terms of battery longevity, this is something the competition should take notice of asap.
In short, most sites like this one seem to have a consensus of opinion in that the XZ, whilst definitely the best Sony phone and an overall descent device, it isn't really the recommended member of the 2016 flagship bunch. Anyone looking to have that question I mentioned earlier answered should read as many such reviews as they can and avoid the 'opinions' of fanboys on threads like this at all costs.
best fone in the market! but avilability is very weak and i can t find it in every market and i forced to purchase it online ! thnx a lot sony i am happy with this but if sony release a phablet soon i go for it as soon as they will release!

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2016i have xperia P,Z1,X compact with all stock battery btw im writing this on xperia P 4yrs old. Obviously he doesn't own an xperia. I'm using my old xperia arc s and mini as spare camera or modem. Never changed the battery since day one. Never bought replacement battery since my first phone in 1990s, be it Ericsson, Sony Ericsson or Sony. I changed phones because of apps requirements. Or else, I might have been using them until they die a natural death.
