I only recently bought a new Sony Xperia Z (about 2 months back). My phone suffered a cracked screen few days ago without even a fall. It happened wen i was out with my friends. we were using the GPS to navigate and while i tried to move along the map, I noticed a crack at the top next to the ear piece /.. And after a while there were 2 more cracks formed. The crack is present on the inside layer ,the LCD screen. There is not a scratch on the outside protective screen of the phone. Currently, the touch works only on some parts of the phone. I have no idea how it has cracked since the phone never FELL down! and I even use a case to protect the phone ...!! I have always owned sony products. Before this i used a sony xperia x8 and this phone has worked flawlessly for more that 2 years. I was so disappointed to see that my SXZ crack like this.. without any reason.
I went to an authorized service center in Chennai to claim warranty and they refused to believe me. They say it has broken due to a fall. I cant believe they simply dismissed my claim without even a thorough examination of the phone. They are only ready to replace the phone for more than 50 % of its current market value.
If you closely look at the phone it is obvious the crack is not due to a fall. Had it been a fall there would have been at least a scratch on the outside ... If you run your fingers over the top screen its all smooth no crack .
I have come across many posts by other people on some forums where they mentioned the exact same problem. I am sure this is a manufacturing defect that my phone had.

it is not waterproof it is water resistance!!! please know that before using it

very happy with the phone especially after the update.
however the camera is disappointing .. especially when taking pictures in clubs etc it is too dark and more often than not the eyes have a glare in it ... please help ?????????

If you want the waterproof, buy the next version, Xperia ZR.

my screen cracked,, it fell off the bed... i suggest u to handle it with extreme care... :)

Not recommended,never buy, it heats a lot, battery life poor,not up to my expectations....

My gf just got the Sony Xperia Z and after playing with it for 10 mins i was in love , i've always had a nokia for the past ten years and now i have to say im leaving nokia for this amazing phone on thursday!

it is a shame that sony buy Ericsson company, about 2year's now sony never announce walkman phone they keep on making xperia G C D A TZ LS H Z J U Y S Q & ZL,imagine xperia z and others coming with walkman application the music is not loud no mega bass inside walkman application let them go back and study Ericsson w550i w850i even w350i. Sony make separate walkman phone or let honami come with it + cybershot camera.please SONY

It's a huge different in proof and resistant.

I've been using c6602 model for 2 weeks... no any battery issues or heating problems yet..awesome battery standby time.. I'm an average user, some times battery remains 3 days without charging.. Really loving this device by Sony.
