lala, 04 Jun 2013i don know why xperia z display is very bad..in my observation, xperia ion got heaven n earth ... moreTotally agree with you, I have xperia ion and I have compared it with many new phones like Z, SP etc..and found display of ION way way way better than them, contrast, vividness of colors, Can any expert pls explain why ?
[deleted post]And you are simply trolling or deluded, when this phone was released, it was easily the best phone with the best and latest spec. The only phone in 2012 remotely similar was the HTC Butterfly which was not released globally. For your information, both still hold their own even now. The fact is even the HTC One and S4 are alreday old in tech terms, so take a reality and chill pill. If you want to keep up with tech, you will have to change your phone every three months!

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2013Hi guys....I really need your help.i left a store this afternoon confused not knowing which to... moreListen mate, i am using Xperia Z for sometime and let me tell you something Its STATE of the ART tech and chicks go wild when they see this gadget in your hands and thats what count honestly no one gives a rat's ass of how much power you got under the hood unless you are a techy person or how many gimmicks the gadget got what really matters is how the social circle around you perceives you with that gadget ... do you stand out of the crowd or are you like the rest and buy the one which every wannabe have.
No doubt Z got greatness under the hood as well but it really comes out when you take it to the swimming pool. plus dont buy S4 as S4 ACTIVE is coming this summer which is wayyyyy better then s4 itself. so either wait and get s4 active or go for xperia z.
I'm gona buy it in few days, do you think it can last three of four year?? :/
Brilliant phone, the display is brilliant, very sharp and durable but the biggest negatives are poor wifi and really heavy battery consumption, I can easily do 1% of battery a minute and in some cases I have had it not keep up with the charger. Sony really need to implement something here regarding the heavy consumption and heat generated.
The wifi I can definetly confirm being poor, I have several android phones, P350, Galaxy Ace, HTC Sensation XE, S3 and they can easily keep a wifi signal in my garden (10m away from router) yet this seems to struggle at that distance constantly switching between data and wifi at that range.
In a way I wish I went for the HTC one of S4 :/
Hi guys....I really need your help.i left a store this afternoon confused not knowing which to buy between Samsung galaxy 4 and Sony Xperia z.i ll be going back tomorrow mornin, I need your advice.tnx
pleas don't upgrade to the software to 253 then the power consumption becomes very high
I am using this phone for more than 3 months.
I live in a warmy and hot country, with high humidity and even worse, i live by the sea.
I have huge problems with every electronic device because of that and althought i am carefull with them., inevitably, the air humidity cause issues to them after a few months. The guarantee does not cover any damage made by air humidity, thu my mobile from now on will be water proof!
The best phone money cou;d buy back in February, when i had to replace my damaged HTC, was the XZ.
This phone is arguably one of the best Androids out there and after having an extensive experience with it, i shall clarify some things that have been blown out of the water over the internet, mostly by children who didnt even touched that phone, let alone us it +3months. So here come a list of truths and myths about the Z;
-Poor viewing angles. It is simply not true, yes under extreme angles, like more than 100 degrees, it might lose some contrast, but at all times you can easily understand whats on the scrren and read its text.
Whether you consider it a privicy handicap or an everyday use advantage, is entirely up to you.
-Scuba diver's phone.
Thats BS, yes the phone has waterresistance and is also dustproo, buts its primary to prevent accidents and to extend its life duration, as both dust and humidity are the prime reasons that wear down all mobiles.
-Washed out colours.
Unless you are a hard core AMOLED fan, you wont even have ay issues, after the latest update, the contrast values seem to be hightened to the ZL levels and when you watch videos, it can be directly compare with the S4, it is a matter of taste and habbit for the final victor, but the Z has not such a bad display, as some are making out to be. Again small details blown out of proportions, same goes for the sun visibility, that usually favors the AMOLED ones, but this certain phones has a special glass that minimises reflection and can remain visible even with lesser display values. These two issues are only internet forum issues and not real life issues.
-Poor WIFI signal.
There is nothing wrong with this device on this department, its prolly your rooter, that happens to work with older devices, set it to the latest n protocol and you wont have disconnections with tablets and mobiles anymore.
-Indistructable/glass easily scratched.
Both are myths, yes this phone is much more durable than the most, of course the glass is tempered and can easily withstand your keys in your pockets without scratches, but if you try to scratch it on purpose, it will be scratched! Mind you though, not nearly as easily as the One will.
- Horrible battery performance at videos/streaming, indeed, alhought is has exceptional talk and standby times, the videos will drain your battery pretty fast, WiFi too, combining them and your out after a few hours... The stamina app and the qualcom app mostly help for improving the standby times, but these are already great anyway, they dont help the Z where help is needed the most...
Sony gave priority to use that phone as phone on the go and anjoy it as a tablet, mostly indoors, where power sources are available. The battery performance reflects on that, thats why it has better standby amd talk time performance than the most, but lower multimedia battery endurance than other flagship phablets.
-Lower than average loud speaker, indeed, this phone was designed to be water resistant, with that in mind the speaker ought to be water and dustproof first and then compare it self with the One's stereo speakers...
The idea was to use it with the bluetooth accessories that most of the times were included in the pre-order packages as bonus, this will save your flaps from wearing and upgrade your music experience a great deal.
-The premioum feel and looks.
Well as a man and kind of a tech geek, that was never my prime concern.
But it really feels premioum, in a sence not even an iphone cant, let alone a plastic phone, or a scratch magnet metal clad one...
I underestimated the power of looks up untill now, but the after watching the crave on the looks of my ifriends, chix and Samsung fans, i finally understand why some ppl buy their phone mostly because of this!
