It will be a very good phone if it wasn't for that ridiculously bad front camera and the 8 gb of memory.

I loved it when it worked for a year. probably they know that the problems start pouring in after a year. i loved the brand so much but now i feel they are bluffing customers.
After one and half years this phone is useless. The water proofing in charging and 3.5 jack port becomes useless and cannot be repaired as this phone cannot be repaired and only be replaced. The minimum cost for replacement is Rs 10k (as told by service center).
As compared to other phones the loudness of call or speaker is very bad.
I have zr and 2 unit of zr never last for 1 year i have sola but dang still keking...
Anonymous, 27 Jan 2016Same here, used for 2.5 yrs without any issues, now upgraded to Z3 compactI also upgraded to z3 compact in 2014 cos the storage capacity wasn't very big, and the battery didn't seem to last too long. However, now I'm using my old phone again cos I accidentally dropped my beloved z3 compact and its touch screen stopped functioning. Well, with moderate use the battery life of zr isn't too bad. It still works beautifully and will be handed down to my hubby after my second z3 compact arrives;-)

I've had my ZR since September 2013, I've sat on it, dropped it on the floor lots of times, I inadvertently left it next to a heater oven so that it got boiling hot and it still chugs on, there are only minor scratches on the display that you can only see at certain angles if you look closely. I've been meaning to get a new phone tho, mostly because of the measly 8GB internal storage. But other than that, it has served me well for over 2.5 years.
T-R-S, 04 Apr 2016strongly agree

As far as service centre support is concerned can't comment as never needed to visit one.
I have now upgraded to Z3C due to internal storage of ZR.

sony's Z series display is damn fragile and easily breaks (to name a few Xperia ZR, Xperia Z that I've personally seen)
and then comes a bigger frustration when you are told by Sony "sorry, there's no support" even if you would like to get it repaired at your own cost. DAMN :(
you pay 20K for this phone (ZR) and then there's no support at all after a year, just nothing; looks like the customer support executives are trained like that by Sony - WTF
Sony models ZL,ZR & Z ultra all r unrepairable models and have to b literally thrown away if any problem crops up after expiry of their 1 year warranty period. This fact is not mentioned in the brochure/terms & conditions of warranty.Really,it is difficult to understand how a renowned company like Sony could do this to its unwary customers.I am a victim of this & could not even get any explanation from them for adopting such a policy !
Now a days I am facing problem with my device (xperia zr). My phone automatically switched off and when I try to switch on it starts optimsing my application in which it becomes hot and due to which it again switch offs. Apart from this sometimes it doesn't charge even with its original charger. Please tell what to do.
