The international version works with the Gmail and Google play.
i use one and i am living in Nigeria.

i have the P1 and the Google PLay and GMail is working perfectly well.
May be u are domiciled in China where you cannot use the Gmail or goole play.

i just bought the P1 in China. Yes, it is an awesome phone.
I was disappointed to find out that you can't use Google Play and Gmail on the phone despite the fact that it is supposed to be running 'stock' Android 4.0. Have you got around this issue? Have you rooted your phone?
I would really like to keep this phone but may return it if there's no immediate solution...

I bought Ascend P1 about a week ago in China.
Price=3000RMB = 360EUR
Performance is v.good, it kills the iphone4s. The camera is fast and high-res.
Lots of crapware comes preinstalled, but easy to remove.
Design is good, the big screen is easy to view, good quality build. Battery life could be a bit better.
Overall an awesome phone!

This product is excellent. The price is fair and attactive. The hardware is advanced in current market. I bought one in China, better than my previous Iphone. Android is fit for the mobile market. China is fit for the mobile market.

There are way better choices out there, Huawei is not and never will be a reliable brand, and their customer service is horrible. I have tried a few Huawei products before, and they all left a fool taste in my mouth...
