I've got this phone for two month now. It's a good piece, but it's software is prety buggy. Actually, there are many firmware updates, but they are only available at service centers, not via internet.
So, i'd love it if it had better support.

Samsung Jet battery is very very poor and no softwares.
You have to live with what it has got.
for 19000 INR it is waste of money.
But the screen display is excellent bcos of LED .

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-10-03 09:03 from wr1S - click to readthere are difference between these two phones s8000 and s8003. Mine is 8003 which is i dont like the way the key buttons layout in sms portrait mode. s8000 is better coz i like the backspace key being on the top right by itself which is easier to press when make mistakes compared to the s8003 the backspace key is on the bottom right beside the spacebar.

> In reply to BRAD @ 2009-10-13 12:27 from M%ju - click to readYou said it rigth. Could not have said it bettter myself. An overall good NON Smartphone device like many others out there.
Lots of features but nothing extraordinary. Nothing to be proud about.
I would definetely not pay either more than 50 Euro to buy a phone that is not a smartphone.
And because I here a lot of people here saying that not everyone needs a smartphone, let me as you this then:
Would anyone here pay even 100 euros to buy a laptop which you can not download any applications and software to it? EVEN if you dont currently need, or think you dont need, applications and software. NO.
Biggest Cons:
1. No applications. A billion applications out there but none for the Jet
2. The OS is not inuitive or user friendly EVEN for the above average user
3. The touchscreen experience could be better. Not as good as the Iphone
4. Poor batter time
5. The cube is stupid to the cube

Highly overrated mobile. Samsung claims it to be "smarter then a smartphone" ... ooooooh myyyyy god.
Let's start with the things that are great :
- Great display - would be disappointed if it wasn't
- Great camera
- 2GB internal - 16GB extra
- 800Mhz CPU
As Samsung claims to be smarter then a smartphone ... In this categary one can have crap or ... a Jet S8000.
Smartphone is all about ease of managing your contacts, your calender, installed apps, ... to name a few.
My biggest frustrations
CONTACTS :
- Unable to sync the contact grouping, set up in the PC Studio, to Samsung.
- Can add multiple numbers to a contact but only if I'm contacted with the number listed first, I can see the contact name. In all other cases I only see a tel. number.
-Contact memo. For business this is perfect to add some profile data. Disadvantage only 100Chars long. just enough to describe someones family hobbies.
- Not all contact fields can be used.
CALENDER
-20+ possible calender categories but with the Samsung Jet S8000 you are only able to select 1, Appointment. When "hacking" the export VCS file, you're able to use a different types. Bottom linbe, one has to organize his agenda with "appointments".
- Appointment entry
Title : 15 Char
Place : 15 Char
Content : 100 Char
AllDay or Holiday checkboxes don't work
2GB, if extended 16GB, of storage and I can't even enter a meeting agenda!?
SYNCING
Fot this Active sync is used. OK I can live with that but .. It needs to be on a server!? As if my boss is going to install active sync on a mail server just to for me. And then MS Exhange... there are more mailing solutions then MS Exchange. It would have been great if one could choose between the top 2-3, but no, not possible.
PC STUDIO
- Old formats are being used when exporting them to e.g. VCF format. Very difficult to keep agenda's (mobile & MSOffice) aligned.
- No EU regional settings (e.g. AM-PM notation) which makes is frustrating when entering a schedule.
SUPPORT
nihil. If it is not their now, forget it that it will ever come.
BOTTOMLINE
Nice mobile with nice display as there are 10's of them but I wouldn't pay no more then €100 for it.
Samsung knows how to make nice screens but in regards to software, userfriendliness, knowing how their market 'ticks', ... at least they could copy now some stuff from the iPhone/Nokia/SonyEriccson.
