Average people who use clamshell phone, open the flip to photo. So, I think no problem, if W508 can't do that. If you want a clamshell phone that can do this, choose Motorola RAZR2 V8 or RAZR2 V9. They can do this (I had ever read in a magazine). :)

Well, I think Sony Ericsson W995 and Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic are good phone. Both of them have HSDPA support, wifi, GPS, etc. Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic is touch screen and uses Symbian 5th edition operating system, while Sony Ericsson W995 is not. For me, I don't like them. I like clamshell phones (no all types).

hey guys, does anyone own a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 Stereo Bluetooth Headset? if yes, can you let me know how good is it? in terms of sound quality during calls and music, battery life, etc. tnx in adv.

I would suggest that you read up the postings for W995. I'm sure you are doing it now. If you ask me, I would not choose either one of them for the fact that I do not believe in spending a lot of money on a mobile phone. Furthermore, I would likely not use those features to surf the net, look at my documents or watch a movie.

I do have an opinion about the Xpress music phone. To me it is horrible that you can't have animated wallpapers displayed. I can't accept that. Even my previous phone, Cookie could do that. In terms of sound quality, I did not hear any difference between my W508 and the Xpress. I had a mobile phone with the symbian platform before and I really dislike it. That's my opinion.

I think W508's keypad is comfortable or not is depend on how you feel it. I am using old Sony Ericsson Z310i, its keypad (1-#) is flat. For me, it is comfortable.

About the battery, I think it last long or not is depend on the user. If you use your phone heavily, it won't last long. If you want to increase its battery life, turn off 3G signal when you don't need it, decrease the brightness display. So many factors that influence the battery life.

I had read a magazine. It said Lithium Polymer is durable and more "green" (environment) than Lithium Ion.

And W980 is better than W508 for music. W980 is said as best music phone, that's why W980 is high end phone with expensive price when first come. W508 can be said as an alternative clamshell phone that like W980 with cheaper price.
T707 is better than W508 and W980 in design thing with light effect. For headphone, I don't know.

There's a new Bob Sinclair version to coincide with Bob Sinclair's new album launch. I think it's only for the European market. Apparently, Bob Sinclair is quite popular in there. If you listen to Euro dance music you will know who he is.

But u can buy the casing with different kind of cool design and pattern under sonyericsson website. This phone is very cool, coz u can change the casing by uself wif u fav color. -peace

I am fine with the keypad even though it is a bit flat. Having used a touchscreen before, a keypad to me is still the best for writing sms.

After a month of using it, I have no regrets still. It functions properly. Dropped it once onto a marble floor but did not experience any breakdown after that.

I realized that when it comes to mobile phone, I hardly use any high end features. That is one reason why I chosed the W508. Simple to use, good to look at, highly customizable and great for listening to music. The motion games are quite fun too. I downloaded a few and they work very well on the phone. A lot of people here ask for wifi in their phone but surfing the net with such a small screen is painful! For the kind of money that you pay for high end phone with 3" screen and wifi, you might as well use the money to buy a mid range phone and a netbook. You'll have more fun with both.

My battery lasts between 3-4 days with 3G off. On days where I only receive/send sms, make a few calls and play motion games occasionally, the battery last even longer.

I got mine made there but the quality of the covers are not good. Even though they claimed beforehand that the colour of the print on the cover will be off a bit if you submit your own photos, mine was way off. What was suppose to look grey becomes brownish grey. To me, that is not "a bit off" but way off. Worse still, it was made is China and I don't need to go further about the quality. One of the covers I have was damaged with scratches. I will send that one back to Imageware (it is the company in Norway who manages the website) for a refund/replacement. Its not cheap per cover, cost me about RM60 (16.70 USD) each wiuth China quality thrown in.

i have tried the slider G705 but unfortunately it is not that good, the keys are not good also i asked my relative about the battery and seems it is not that good also.
I am still using the old one Z 520 and i really like its keys and gsmarena has described its keys as one of thee best when it is 1st launched.
is the keys of the W508 good or not?
i read from the review it is on flat bed membrane as used in G705 and some other mobiles?
I am wondering if you are going to buy a mobile now after you experienced W508 it for 1-2 months, will you decide to buy it again?
my final question, i know i have asked before about the battery performance, but does the Li-ion battery is better than Li-polymer, or in other words if just normal use without using 3G, internet and little use, does this battery can last for 4-5 days?
