pal its unlockable, theres a web site that does it how do i know? i got 1.. the only prob is u wouldn't be able to use alll the functions

c'mon..why bother to buy and rizk a lot of fortune if u don't know and not zure if all the featurez gonna work or not..the place u are now or uzing it to zome other country..there'z a lot of smart PDA phonez that iz zo uzerz friendly and not really complicated for a novice individual..more cheaper and have zame zpecz..

All Sidekicks delete all of their information if they haven't had service/contact/valid sim/no battery/etc for xx amount of time. Either way, if you buy a used one, do a master reset/call customer care to get instructions on how to do it to make sure everything is good

I work for a outsourced call center for T-Mo (One of the English ones thanks). To those that want to unlock the Sidekick (Any for that matter) it is impossible. To use the Sidekick, you need the special sidekick plan which connects to a T-Mo directory (Of sorts) where you log on with your user info on the T-Mo network. No T-Mo credentials, no using the phone. I've spoken with customer care a few times as well and we are not able to unlock the phone either.

Do not buy the phone unless you plan on using either T-Mo's Post/Flex paid service OR the Prepaid service. To use it as data only with optional/no voice, you have to qualify as post pay or go with prepaid. Flex does not support the data only.

Just thought I'd be nice and share this info for those customers that are buying them to try and use on other carriers or are just generally trying to figure them out more =)

i have this phone here in US,and i just lovee this phone!But without accessing internet you can't even set a ringtone you like...=(
so my question is : Can i use this phone in Russia?i need ONLY make calls,i DON'T need to use internet ,ONLY calls.
my phone is under T-mobile contract,but as i understand i can use the phone outside the USA ,but phone will work only for making calls...is that correct???

So, Nel you use the sidekick Lx 2009, unlocked with internet access?? Please can I have information, please!! I'm desperate, I live in the UK and the eBay seller claqimed that I just needed to change my carrier to use the internet, I have tried O2, Tmobile UK and they don't work.

Well you really shouldnt get this phone its O.S. is really old and nuthin new and not worth the price i rather get the hero or maybe the n97 for this price

I own a sidekick lx 2009 and I unlocked it myself. It worked fine here in the Philippines but it doesnt have data only calls and text. You can buy an unlock one from ebay.com and ship it directly to you or you could go to america buy one then go to an internet site to acquire an unlock code and unlock it yourself. The cheapest siteI found charged 59.99 for the unlock code.

so if it doesnt have wi fi, i could go on the internet the ones depending onto lets say fido's internet? then ill get charges for going tot he internet. Im looking for unlocked sidekick LX 2009 and can't seem to find anyone that is selling it on the internet (unlocked ones) Anyone that happens to be selling it message me asap thanks :]
