guess the phone software is still buggy. as for heavy users, it is advisable to get the additional battery pack that comes with an external charger. it doubles up as battery case as well. i managed to bargain for a free extra battery & charger pack when purchased it in cheras and it's useful for low battery incidents

To all Vk2020 user,

SMS problem such as unable send long message or unable read message in outbox, there is new software that can rectify the fault.

Save name unable appear on screen is due to different operator setting. Like phone purchase from Malaysia, it will set according to Malaysia.

All MP3 files can only be view if the file is save inside 'MUSIC' folder. After transfer file into 'MUSIC' folder it will automatically generate playlist inside MP3 Playlist

andy, i have been using the phone for nearly 3 months now. have exactly the same problems. suddenly the outbox messages do not appear & can only send 1-part sms. anything more & it hangs. not only that...keypad "paint" is coming out as i m a heavy sms user. looks awful now. planning 2 change phone already. sigh

I recently bought a VK2020 from Malaysia and I have a problem with the phone. Although I have people registered at my contacts, when they call me the phone doesn´t show their names. The phone only shows their phone numbers and a tag "unnamed" instead.
I have tried to fix this problem in many ways but there is not even a hint on how you can solve this issue.
This is very weird because my father bought another VK2020 from Spain (it is in Spanish) and the phone works fine.
Do you know how I can fix this problem?

Andy, If you are a heavy user, this phone is NOT for you. For very light use, about ~30 mins of short duration calls per day, the phone will BARELY last 2 full days. I usually charge my phone every night. But if you really like this phone, you probably need an extra battery.

1 2 buy, it seems that VK copied Motorola. The SLVR was annoced and release before this phone was announced. However, it's hard to tell since the VK2020 was announced in Feb. and being sold in end of March.

I absolutely love this phone, however i have recently run into problems - first the sent messages cannot be read anymore (they used to but not now) and secondly i cannot send messages when they are split into two, it just gets stuck in a loop when sending and i hav eto turn off the phone altogether.

Anyone else had these problems?

Thanks for the help acuratls, I did that and the files seemed to transfer because the phone memory is filling up but the mp3's are not showing up under music or sounds and I tried to store them there. Any more hints? Thaks again

To transfer MP3 you have to change setting from PC Sync to Mass Storage Device. Menu|5 Settings|6 PC Connection| Mass storage device

I live in thte USA and wanted to kow if anyone has one here and knows how to make it work with cingulars internet
? I also can not seem to get it to sync to add mp3's can anyone help? Thanks

Alex,
I don't know how you would change the language from korean to english. My VK2020 only has 1)english 2)chinese (simplified) 3)chinese (traditional) 4)Malay.

The language option is Menu|5Settings|3Phone Setting|2Language

The best phone I ever have. What do you need more from phone. Never needed camera on phone when its fish eyed. Only thing it would be nice to have is extra memory card that this phone can be used as a mp3 pleyer.

I try to answer base on my experience :

1. My Standby time around 2 - 3 days, without conversation.
2. I just set the someone contact with name, picture, ringtone dan number and when he is calling the display will show : name and picture (no number) with his assigned ringtone. No other setting need to be done. Have you done that procedure? if done, it should be wrong with the software.

I bought vk2020 a month ago and use it with Cingular in the US. So far, great phone, no problems. Got this instead of sliver because vk2020 is thinner, but also much shorter and lighter weight. It also ended up being cheaper. I would definately buy this phone again if I needed to.
