Indeed, the VE538 is very similar to the M7... but it lacks the enhanced dust/splash/whatever protection and the GPS receiver.

Guys, for those of you who didnīt red the coments, this is not a Motorola designed product, in fact the only moto thing is the logo. This is a BenQ M7, dressed in a Motorola. Itīs only sold in Asia i guess...
So stop making criticisms.....

Not really a Moto style design but still very cool looking. Good mid-range.
The only thing I'm not that impressed with is the big 2.0 MEGA PIXEL text on the back.

the motorola ve538 is quite a good entry-level 3G celfone. 2mp camera w/ vga for video calling,bluetooth,mp3 and mp4 capable with upto 4gb microsd memory. the only real downside is the lack of an fm radio and it would have been perfect and flash for the camera would have been a plus,too. it's size and colors are quite cute and handy though. a good one from motorola.

i agree, for those who didn't have the access on the benq M7, here's your chance. got the phone already, as a siemens fan, i love it!=)it uses siemens brew os just like benq-siemens E81, EF81, SL91 and benq M7 of course.

As a Moto fan, I don't like this V538 much either. I don't mind old models, as if they're ex-top-of-the-line being sold at great discount.
E.g. Moto K3 with mostly higher specs than VE538 is being sold for about US$128 (unlocked no contract) where I live.

i agreed, this looks like benq/siemens phone that rebranded as Motorola.
better get Nokia/Samsung/LG/SE/ 's 3G solutions.
they all have better specs than Moto for the same amount of money.
