what i am saying here is the comparison between the sound quality of an XpressMusic device and a Walkman Device.

now, im using w980, before i used n70, and before that , i used w800.. man, d n70 sounds damn worse than w800 10 times..

thats why i change to w980..

i know for os nokia is better, bcoz of symbian..

but, my priority is music, so, i came back to w series..

Again Same kbps, same file extension, same equalizer was used.



the new headset of nokia XpressMusic phones i was metioning that was to be released was for nokia 5730, 5330 XpressMusic and future xpressmusic phones to be released which was mentioned on their launching video.

these are ELIMINATIVE types, the one similarly being sold with walkman phones but the difference is that it is 3.5mm not the adapter type of Walkman Phones that gets crushed on tight pockets thus resulting to distorted sound quality.


if you want Better Sound quality, Better UI and easier music transfers you should have NOKIA XpressMusic phones rather than SonyEricsson Walkman phones. its that SIMPLE. no more no less.

ive tried it, believe me.

Nokia Xpressmusic has better sound quality than sony ericsson phones.


i proved that to my self. i used to own a nokia xpressmusic phone. the after some years i bought a sony ericsson walkman phone. so now i already had two phones. nokia xpressmusic and a walkman phone as well..

the sound quality of nokia xpressmusic can really be seen to be better than sony ericsson walkman phones.(same songs and kbps were used on transferring music on both phones)

even my relatives at our house told me, i think your nokia phone had louder and better sound quality than your new walkman phone now..

SE headphones MAYBE better than nokia, but nokia had already launched eliminative headset that provided better sound quality compared to their old headphones which i belived to be alright as well...

What makes Walkman sounds good only it's headset. If Nokia put Bose or Senheisser headset in their phone, Walkman will die. Honestly, W980, W902, W995 are just a CRAP compared to my N81 8GB

i have a friend whos into sound engineering and we see eye to eye on this.
SEs sound lacks totally in the low to below-mid range frequencies while it reproduced the higher frequencies of a track (the one we were hearing at the time was a heavy metal number with plenty of bass) pretty well.
the nokia did a much better job with the bass in the track while it seemed to lack where treble was concerned.

all in all, the nokia sounded a whole lot better than the SE.

my sister has a SE W580 (the one with its speaker on the nav key) and its sucks compared to my 5700. the sound on the SE has way too much treble while bass as well as treble is reproduced faithfully on my nokia.

Sorry John.. yes i m a nokia fan but i do not agree wid you...S I heard both nokia xpress music and sony ericsson walkman phone.. and believe me sound quality of walkman phone is way better than nokia xpress music..i m not saying that nokia has worst sound quality it's also good to hear but bass is missing in nokia. that's why i prefer walkman 2 enjoy music
