> In reply to snicker (philippines @ 2010-03-16 13:25 from t7T$ - click to readDear Snicker from Philippines,
Frankly speaking I haven't used 5800 much in order to tell you regarding its freezing problems... But I've used it more than enough to discover its features and all... (In order to comment on things like freezing you have to use a mobile at least for a month with heavy usage... Right...?)
I also have seen lots of posts in internet that 5800 has such problems but my very honest idea is bit different on this.. As a best selling mobile 5800 has proven its popularity and in the mean time it's an obvious thing that it gets lots of user complaints as well... I don't thing all those people who bought that mobile has those complains... Only few do... But as the phone is very popular those complains would also spread easily... Right...?
On the other hand if a mobile doesn't have so many complains it doesn't mean that it really doesn't have trouble... It also means that that particular mobile is not that popular among people...! Get what I'm saying...?
So I don't honestly think Nokia 5800 has much more freezing troubles etc compared to 5530 because both mobiles has same OS, same resolution, same processor, same RAM which are all about performance...
However 5530 has got different hardware for its touch screen layers so you'll feel a difference in touch response... But this is not relevant to what you've asked...
Of course I'm a very happy user of Nokia 5530 and even now if I have to choose between Nokia 5800 and Nokia 5530, I will definitely go with Nokia 5530 because I really love its design (shape & size) and the overall build quality.. However as everybody knows Nokia 5800 has more features..
When it comes to a Symbian phone, you have to understand that it's a smart mobile... (just like a mini computer) so freezing troubles are somewhat common... it's common for any smart mobile not only for 5800... So if you that much care about that issue and you really don't mind to trad 'Smart capabilities' for a 'Not hanging/freezing' mobile then... it's your choice... Because I've used Nokia 1100 (which is a very basic phone) and it never hanged...!
Regarding 5530... Hanging also depends on your usage actually... For me, I am a hard core user of my mobile and it rarely hangs... And I'm sure if I was an ordinary user who only uses the default software and do the default stuff... then this mobile would never have hanged...!

I jsut bought the 5530 and I got no problems with it apart from looking for a way to manage the files, I've added the files but if I look and check the File Manager the Memory card and phone memory still displays the same Free memory even if I add more files. It doesnt hang like the 5800 does.

hi to nuwan,
i have read a lot of comments coming from you... i can say that you really are experienced in using xpress music phones and very helpful. =)
im planning to buy a phone in a week or so. i am choosing between 5800 and 5530. i have no problem with the pricing and features, but i am leaning towards 5800 coz of its dual led flash and higher price value. hehe til' i have read the opinions.
need your help in deciding in which one to buy in terms of phone quality. as i have read the opinions on 5800 many have complained about the often hanging or freezing of the phone. (i hate it so much when the phone hangs it is really annoying especially when you are in a hurry, i know im not alone with this =) )
is it true that even with simple usage it still hangs? what the reason behind why it hangs? is it factory defect or does it really just comes with the phone?
does this also happen to 5530?
hope you can take time to express your opinions, pls dont hesitate to correct me.
hope this will also enlighten other people with the same thought
others experienced user can also feel free to post their opinions.
thanks in andvance
GOD BLESS!

I'm not a Nokia representative though I am pretty sure that warranty will not void because of a 3rd party software installation...
Because 'Hacking' itself is a kind of 3rd party software installation and you can undo it anytime you want... So nobody will never know whether your phone have been hacked before or not, once you undo the operation...
So, obviously there should not be any warranty void issue due to 'hacking' thing...
Asking Nokia care center would be better, but I doubt whether they know much about this hacking and all that...
So, once you ask about the warranty and hacking from them, if they say like this...
"What....! Hacking... Ooh my god... That word sounds terrible.. No.. ma'am I don't think we can offer the warranty for you if you're going to hack your phone...!"
I don't wonder...!
If I were you, I will certainly hack my mobile, and will not bother to tell them because it's none of their business (Just like contents in your inbox is none of their business...)

Are you using default web browser...? Or any other 3rd party application like Nimbuzz to connect to yahoo or msn messenger...?
Actually I haven't tried that before... but using the applications 'Fring' or 'Nimbuzz' which are very popular and well compatible with Nokia 5530 Xpress Music, you will be able to overcome this problem...
These applications are free and further more you can log in to multiple messenger sites simultaneously...
(Facebook, Yahoo, Skype, Google talk etc...)
I think it'll be great if you could try them out...
Search for 'Fring for mobiles' in google and select Nokia 5530 as your mobile and then application can be downloaded either to your mobile directly or to your computer... Very very simple...

Are you using the default youtube book mark in the menu - web or have you downloaded the google youtube mobile application...?
I think you're still using the bookmark thing... That's useless... You must download the youtube application for Nokia 5530 and you can watch great quality youtube clips without any problem....
Try it out today itself... (You'll definitely regret why you didn't do it earlier...!) Search for 'youtube.sis for Nokia 5530' in google...

You're right... Until you said the importance of that small three letters, I didn't even bother to look at it...
You're just great brother...
Thank you for backing me up... It's always a strength to know that I'm not alone in this...
