To those dissing the iphone for the reason that it excluded some features that other phonemakers made common on their phones.

The iphone has a different concept of what a phone should be. They have their own ideal features that they feel would be more beneficial to the user and more appropriate for integration into a phone.

Honestly, those features that phonemakers like Nokia, Samsung, HTC and LG threw in are pretty lame. With the iphone, it makes sense and is more usable that you can really enjoy it and find yourself really using its features regularly and meaningfully, and not just for play. The iphone is more than just background, theme and ringtone customization. It's for people who wants a device that works smoothly and offers features that serves amusement as well as a helpful resource. Thanks to the iphone, other phonemakers like Nokia are realizing that and are also gearing towards that direction. But because of their pride, they're redirecting to the iphone's path slowly. They'll get there. But not soon.

I really like this phone..an i want to buy one as soon as it comes out. but i just need to say to those who say nokia is copying the iphone, the fact is nokia used accelerometers before iphone (n93i) an think this phone will be the iphone kiler cuz apple overlooked many basic feature for the sake of "innovation" spec wise this is better than the iphone but i guess we would have to wait to see how the UI performs

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-10-03 19:31 from p$Kx - click to readYes, my major issue is the screen, and that is a big deal because you use the screen every time you use the phone. I did consider BT and MMS. Those are handy features. But I also know that there are other features that does the same thing, like email. So I still get that function covered. I never had issues with the iphone on calls, or any of my prior phones. So you are wrong is saying that the iphone has poor calling capabilities. I do not know what you mean in saying that the iphone has limited messaging capabilities. I can send SMS and even send email with my iphone. What more do I need? As for the camera, I think all camera phones have pathetic cameras, lol. They're not meant to be primary cameras in the first place. No offense, but people who likes quality photos would always prefer digital cameras, unless you cannot afford to buy one, so you would just settle for a camera phone. What crazy problems does the iphone have that should've been fixed in the 3g version? Apple deliberately excluded some features for a reason. Believe me, if the iphone is just an overhyped product, no one would have bought the 3G version. People who had the 1st gen iphone even upgraded to 3g. Iphone got bad reviews? Is that why it's chosen as the gadget of the year in several magazines? Nokia has not taken care of the basics. If they had, they would've used glass instead of plastic for its screen. What heap of technology are you talking about? Nokia chose resistive instead of capacitive touch. Resistive is old school technology for touchscreens. Is that the heap of technology that you're talking about? No doubt, this is going to be a cool phone, because I used to have the N95, and I was happy with it as well. But to say that this one would be better than the iphone is just wishful thinking. I see this phone competing with Samsung and LG. Iphone is just too good for this phone.

This phone isn't perfect. But let me let you all in on e little secret - perfect phones do not exist. That's the monstrous marketing strategy manufacturers now days implement.
But but but.. this phone is surely decent one. I like its stylish design and bunch of useful functions. The only thing that this phone lacks is iPhone's multitouch thing. I will buy this phone once it's released to market here in Turkey. Turkey is always 2 months behind the rest of the world and I believe it won't be released earlier than January.

> In reply to Jest @ 2008-10-03 19:03 from pq$8 - click to readFor your information, the iphone does'nt have an mms. Which is very important to so many people. Second, iphone's camera is only 2 mp. Third, 5800 xpresmusic has 16m colour screen, which is very high quality. It is obvious that the iphone lose! Anyway, 5800 xpress should be announced along with the e75 and e72.. Plus some devices i cant talk about yet. A hint, 8 mp. 3.5' screen. The next Nxx.. Just wait till this december.

The problem with Nokia phones is that they are always very exciting at the beginning then people start to realize they are very cheaply made, look and feel like toys, and get bored very fast with them. Hope not the same with this one.
